Why? They should go to the Alliance, if not as an Allied Race, then as a new cosmetic option for regular gnomes. Letting them be Druids, though, would be cool - you could have Transformers.

The mechagnomes seem to be normal gnomes who augmented themselves with mechanical parts, rather than the other robotic mechagnomes everyone is used to.
For that reason, I feel they'd make more sense on alliance.

I didn't know I want this until I've read this.
Why not? Horde seem to get everything else.
i sorta get the feeling Horde will get Junker/Mecha Gnomes and Alliance will get the Gilbins or something just to swerve everyone.

Wouldn't be bad, and it'd be grand to let the Horde get a race that is closely resembled to an Alliance race. We got that with the void elves. Would be fitting for the Horde to have something akin.
Or I'm just being bitter and wanting the Horde to get a poorly developed race with no reasonable opportunities for growth because its played off a defining trait of an existing race. Just like Lightforged Draenei behaved with Regular Draenei already being light zealots.

The announced race isn't a mechagnome, it's a techgnome or cyborgnome. Mechagnomes are robots. These are regular Flesh Gnomes with creepy metal augmentations.

Well then, wake up! Alliance is getting Kul Tiran. They've been around since the RTS.

I don't know, I think Gilblins would have as much of a chance with the Alliance as with the Horde, but I don't see how the Gnomes would possibly choose Horde over their Gnomish brethren.
New Gnomes look interesting though. If they end up being an AR I'd probably play em. I think they're better than all of the other Alliance races, except for Kul'Tirans, those guys are great.
No, the Alliance deserves a race as well thought out and lore rich as Mechagnomes :)

What's that you say? The Horde has been crafting Mechagnomes for Hordish purposes for years?
That's a shame. If you want to play the shortest, cutest race in the game, the Alliance will be waiting for you.
Deal, you can have the mechagnomes, but you must take the regular gnomes along with them.
I think that both sides can finally agree on something:
