I feel like Slice and Dice needs to have a longer duration

Hear me out when I used to play Outlaw the duration was like 50 something seconds and I never felt like I had an issue with its uptime. Now it’s 36 seconds and it just feels like such a hassle. Maybe it’s because I’m not max level and maybe because I’m a bad player, but it’s the only issue I have with Rouge right now. I’ve been leveling subtlety and it’s been great, but Slice and Dice has been a constant annoyance and when I leveled my Alliance side Outlaw Rogue in BFA it was a none issue. What am I doing wrong?

I just recently started playing Assassination so I can’t really speak for the community, but I think that it’s duration while short is like a necessary evil.

I would pay cubic dollars in Classic WoW for a 36 sec SnD duration. I manage just fine in Classic with 21 sec Base (roughly 30 sec max talented) Slice and Dice.

Because 6 extra seconds is massive.

With 6 combo points, SnD has almost a one minute buff.

I don’t know. I think the 36s is fine. But, I’ve gotten pretty used to shorter timers. So, that could be why.
You know, that is one great thing about going from Nightblade to Rupture. The extra 8 seconds is pretty nice.

I started using that talent where you get 6 points and now it’s fine for me, but I still think 36 seconds isn’t long enough. I’m not asking for 30 minutes I just think high 40 seconds to mid 50 seconds is the butter zone for Slice and Dice.

When you add SnD as baseline and it becomes a requirement for a spec all that is effectively doing is creating another timer to manage. Which in turn means the other abilities have to do less damage when everything is tuned to account for SnD.

So basically it’s adding a timer to manage and making your more fun abilities do less damage.

OP, i just looked at what spec you are ! You are sub, take premed at your current ilvl, Weapon Master is awesome, once you have enough dps to pump out. Premed, gives SnD and if you stealth again, with combo points, Premed will award two extra points. You can keep SnD rolling out of Shadow Dance, easy.

36 seconds is fine.

All I’m asking is the mid 40 seconds to mid 50 seconds. I’ve found that with the extra combo point it’s way better, but 36 seconds is just too damn short. I shouldn’t even be noticing it as part of my rotation and I don’t now, but I’m married to a talent choice now and if I need to swap to 50 energy or Marked for Death I’m going to get annoyed by Slice and Dice again for sure.

It’s not bad for outlaw with grand melee roll adding to the duration. I mean, you can and should be rerolling that if it’s the only roll you get, but even having to keep it until RtB is back up should give you a pretty lengthy SnD, and if you get it as part of a two roll, it’s not uncommon to wind up with a couple minutes or more of SnD uptime.
