do a character story that completely ruins his character.
give him a brand new hair do.
take away his defining facial features.

He got a new hairdo a few years ago. And he’s had lots of prominence in the story. He’s remained stable and level headed throughout. We need at least one of them to be like that. Plus he landed a tall wife!

Lor’themar will stumble into a part of Eversong Forest that connects to the dream and wander off beyond into the Lifelands, so enthralled will he be by the beauty of the forest, and so will be life-corrupted.
My cynical prediction is he dies a hero’s death in either pre-patch or the first max level campaign, he designates Alleria his successor among his final words and her becoming formal ranger-general of a reunified Quel’thalas after various amends have been made in questing (thus making her feel that she actually did earn the position for more than her name) is cemented sometime before the first raid tier.

Beautiful or not is irrelevant.
She’s a thousand+ year old top tier ranger who’s entire arc during the last thousand years (her time) was becoming a void goddess, only to be led around by the nose by Xal’atath, acting up like an angsty teenager. That’s to say nothing about her reflecting about the Void and how it drives her away from her family and thinking maybe she should just cleanse herself, and then that thought goes nowhere because obviously she won’t, but even Blizzard at this point realizes, “Yeah, this makes no sense at all, actually…”
