Imagine dying and getting sent to a place where they’re like “Hey! Welcome! So now that you’re here we’re just gonna use your soul life force to power everything and even feed it to animals. Welcome to eternity!”
Seriously, this place is basically what we warlocks do to living people
I feel people are forgetting that the Shadowlands were slowly crumbling before we got here and reversed it in Castle Nathria… Ardenweald for instance would usually only ask for a small portion of one’s anima rather than sacrificing whole souls for the stuff. Maldraxxus is Maldraxxus of course but the civil war was a result of the Primus leaving. etc etc. The four we see also aren’t anywhere near the sum total of realms either…
To be fair none of the covenants short of Revendreth has demonstrated an ability to send souls to the Maw, and even then it seems they’re willing to allow some lenient leeway.
Looking back on her behavior and not knowing what we know now about Shadowlands, it seemed awful
But now the thought of Shadowlands being my fate sounds worse. Breaking the system seems like a better alternative than resigning yourself to the Shadowlands
The concept of a Heaven and a Hell is pretty ridiculous.
So you die and go to Heaven, but whos Heaven is it?
My Heaven? Filled with nice peaceful breezes, lots of pizza and ice cream and bunnies?
Or Trumps Heaven? Packed with large golf courses, his name plastered on every building, money literally raining from the sky?
Obviously he would hate my Heaven and I his, so we both can’t have the same Heaven.
And you could say “well we each get our own private Heaven” but would that be Heaven for an extrovert? I mean an introvert would love it but it would be Hell for an extrovert to be all alone.
Don’t mortal souls have to take the soulshape boon in Ardenweald which sucks their anima out of them? Mortal souls tend to the forest of ardenweild which help feed the reborn.
You’ve seen the realms that run the Shadowlands and base the entirety of it on them? They aren’t meant to be peaceful afterlives but cogs in a machine. Most people would go to a fitting afterlife.
