I think when this post was originally created, Researchers Under Fire wasn’t a thing yet, but yes… now that Researchers Under Fire is a weekly event, if you get into a custom raid group that’s full and knock it out 12/12 you’ll get all of your rep right there from that each week.
Quick to just search custom group finder on each alt, do Researchers Under Fire once on each of them, and done. Thank goodness that event is like every hour or something, too. Makes it a lot more alt friendly to get the 1500 rep now.
Folks, it’s stupid easy to get the 1500 rep.
Step 1: do the researcher event early in the week or during the weekend, It routinely gives out 750-1000 rep for completing it.
Step 2: do the digs. These things pay out huge on rep with treasure whiskers, the objective itself and possible side treasures; two of these can net you something like 600+ rep.
3. Step 3: WQ to fill things out; there’s usually at least one or two that spit out bonus rep.
All told this shouldn’t take you more then half an hour.
no, I wasn’t aware but asking for a reduction just to get dailies WQs back will reduce over all rep per week. blizz never ever just does one thing without adding (or in their minds - removing/reducing/etc) another thing.
why can’t you just ask to have dailies restored back to normal like they’ve been since they were first added to the game. why make it complicated and add fuel to the dev’s fire?
yea unless you unlock vendor gear week 1 of a xpac its usually useless. i dont understand why they even bother putting gear on a vendor for a patch when its going to be lower than what you already have especially by the time u unlock it
if you just blitzed the campaign and used all the rep items immediately instead of saving them for the weekly I feel bad for you son but as they say in the bizz it’s a skill issue.
I wouldn’t really care about the NIffen rep thing at all if I could get my sparks from Dungeons/raids in the same week. Not as a catch up, just let me do the content I regularly do and enjoy and move on.
And if you can, join a raid group to get at least 10/12. It will complete the Niffen Weekly in one shot. I do this on my main and 6 crafting alts and it takes very little time.
Doing the 10 weekly quests on alts is easier, if you do the Fyrrak Assualts. It will give you completion for multiple quests once you are done. Add in a few flying quests or Cataloging quests and you are done.
Even the Soup event is much easier to finish now.
The worst one is Dragon Keep assault, just because of watching for the timing to start. Use Wowhead for that time schedule.
And yes, this thread was made before this was an option. Took me awhile to work out a plan for my profession alts, but I’m getting there.
i just dunno why the whelping and drake crest fragments are not boa at least. the gear gap between someone on a fresh alt and someone that has been playing since 10.1 release is way way to far apart to warrant a group invite unless you have geared friends to carry or pay for a run.
for people that do “everything” on main m+, raid, zone quest and achievement hunt, pet, mount and toy farm within a new zone, by the time they are done they are basically “sick” of the zone. now do all that over on an alt to get them crest fragments on an undergeared alt. no thanks. especially when you main has 2 and a 1/2 billion crest fragments.
at the very least the whelping and drake crest fragments should be boa to get players alts over the initial zone grind that they already did and help leverage them into end game content so they can farm the higher wyrm and aspect crest fragments on their alts.
and that is not asking for much if anything at all.
I disagree. Players who like to play alts can’t be broken of this and forced to play only a main and then log off for the week, like those who don’t like much of the game and consider it an imposition to be expected to set foot in the world.
You can’t change human nature. You can’t force people to play in a way they don’t find entertaining, even if you consider it a moral crusade.
If the design intent of the game is to make it onerous to play alts, then you’re actively working to drive those people away from the game. But you seem to be succeeding. Do you get a gold star for every player you convince to leave?
