Nu Blizz not only never said what that band said, old blizz didn’t either.
A music band is not an official spokesperson for Blizzard.
The band still had unspoken Dev endorsement via said video being broadcasted at Blizzcon. Even if it wasn’t intentional, that’s how its perceived in the real world, why the Blizzard CEO had to make a public apology, and its why Public Relations officials and Lawyers have so much clout. This is why only sanctioned representatives can speak to the public as the “face” of a company.
Its likely why there was no 2012 Blizzcon; PR and Legal probably had a sit-down with the devs, and had to draw up new policy guidelines that required C-suite approval.
Seriously?
Corpsegrinder (from the metal band Cannibal Corpse, not Blizzard in any way shape or form) says screw the Alliance.
Alliance players: “See? Blizzard says we were wrong for picking Alliance!”
That is sad.
Very sad.
I think it had less to do with Corpsegrinder saying it than Blizz playing the video as part of Blizzcon.
It isn’t like they gave the guy a mike on stage then regretted it when he started shooting off at the mouth unscripted. They played a video that they fully knew well what it said.
And CEO’s don’t issue formal public apologies without the clear understanding that someone messed up on their watch.
So, Blizzard didn’t agree with what he said.
How does that translate to Blizzard says Alliance is wrong for picking Alliance?
No, the dev(s) that set that up did agree with it. It was already well know what the video said and they had already edited the audio to censor out the swear words.
It wasn’t an accidental mistake but an intentional mistake on Blizz’s part. Or at least one dev with the authority to set that up during Blizzcon’s closing ceremonies on the main stage.
“What’s the problem with Blizzard playing a video at Blizzcon where someone calls Alliance players the F slur and then inviting him on stage to sing with the Horde themed band made up of Blizzard developers? How is that the company insulting people for playing Alliance?!”
Yup. Totally the same thing as Blizzard making in game content that shames Horde players.
I can see how that confused you spud.
“What’s the problem with a company choosing to play a video at their convention wherein someone openly calls half the games players a slur for homosexuality for choosing to play a different faction and then inviting that person on stage to play along in their band? The Horde story being bad is far more heinous a crime.”
Alliance always has to be the victim, no matter what the situation.
Happened a decade ago. the only people still there are Chilton, Tigole, and Afrasiabi. Tigole doesn’t even work on WoW anymore.
THEY ALSO DIDN’T PUT IT DIRECTLY INTO THE GAME INTO MANDATORY CONTENT THAT EVERY NEW PLAYER MUST WITNESS.
Can you at least admit it was wrong and not something they should have done? And that it was pretty insulting to people who paid for those tickets to Blizzcon because they were fans of Alliance content?
I mean, I can and have said the Horde story is bad, and more than once made threads speaking about, say, the ludicrously disgusting way trolls are written. Not sure the problem in admitting that was a scummy thing to do on Blizzards part that year.
Okay, look, guys. I literally can’t stop you from totally ignoring me and continue to fight, but can’t we respect Pellex’s thread premise that this is discussing the statements made by Blizzard developers about BfA and not dig up past grievances to post gotcha statements at each other?
I mean sure. I just thought it was funny the lengths to which someone would deny and downplay how scummy playing that video at Blizzcon was on the part of Blizzard in this very thread complaining about how Blizzard treats its fans.
Just another opportunity for him to show how much he hates the Alliance. He loves playing a Horde victim. If you replaced Alliance with Horde in that video he would be using it as an example. We can’t go one thread now without him whining. Yet people defend him.
And Alliance would hand wave it just as readily.
I don’t think that’s true.
Of course you don’t.
Why would I?
