Ah, now that I can agree with ![]()
Good for us that male bare chests can be shown around without any problems.
That does not require that female ones should be equally exposed.
Not everything is about forced reciprocating equality.
Many people consider the bosom of a woman a sacred thing, a divine thing even. Many people see the special condition of a woman’s bosom as a sign of respect.
They are entitled to their opinion, which is as of today the majority, as much as any individual’s persons ones.
If people are so fond of democracy, they should know that democracy is not about forced equalization of “concepts”, it is about equality of power in making decisions.
In this case, correctly applied to mold costumes and rules according to what most people consider, and not about what a minority wants to push on others.
I doubt that, considering that what I believe is that there are indeed only few games out there right now that are worse than World of Warcraft.
Given a little time I could probably find a game that is worse.
I don’t care much about them changing things. It’s just asinine things they’re changing. Like removing emotes? Changing the word consort ?
What I do not understand is that Blizzard wrote up an entire article about being inclusive, yet how is changing the word consort being inclusive? How is adding male NPCs to black temple or Kara inclusive? Is that saying Illidan is now bisexual? If so, that’s extremely lazy.
Why don’t they actually be inclusive by making more PoC characters like the captain you meet as an alliance on the starting area? Why don’t they be inclusive by making more LGBTQ+ characters instead of being lazy and taking the harry potter approach and making older characters gay?
Why do they need to delete instead of create? Removing or changing old content isn’t being inclusive. It’s lazy.
Seriously, Overwatch is way more inclusive than WoW and the way they handle it is masterful. The poster child of the game is a lesbian.
Go make better characters and stories from scratch instead of deleting stuff.
Why not? Sounds good to me.
i know! what i’m saying is, people of all gender types are operating openly in society, so pretending bare chested males arent stimulating and suggestive too, is kinda weird.
Im a far right Bible thumping gun nut…and this puritan crap is annoying me as much as anyone else.
Theyre doing it to try to PROJECT the idea that theyve changed lol.
They THINK if they ‘clean’ up the game that THAT will show us all that they have changed.
People dont change. They mask.
The only way to change the company is to rid it of the PEOPLE who behaved badly. Destroying this games personality isnt going to fix their problems.
By the logic this company is using we need to RID the world of any semblance of a hint of sexual content…mention…inference…even the thought of the procreative act needs to be banned to the void…just so they can purge themselves of their own guilt and put on a show for the world that theyve become new men.
Personally, I aint buying it. Once a perv, always a perv. This puritan act isnt fooling anyone who doesnt literally WANT to be fooled. Its just ruining the games personality permanently.
My wife is pretty prudish and even she is getting close to having had it with some of this crap.
I feel helpless. What else can we do to stop this?
as other has said, the only thing we can do is unsub
That is not a reason, that is not a why.
You can see as many female breasts as you want on your own, that doesnt mean you are entitled to make it so EVERYONE must have it shoved in every place.
Nope, if it’s what YOU believe then who am I to argue?
That’s your belief
The problem becomes when you start saying things are objectively better that are a personal opinion. There are no objectively “best” games, there’s objectively better selling games, there’s objectively more populated games, but objectively “best” no, you could even swing best for these types of people, but you can’t have an overally objectively best because peoples tastes are different.
Undocumented changes are happening and will continue to happen. Posturing is the only thing companies can do. They rarely ever have real change.
When the news broke about all the sexual harassment and other nefarious behavior came out, I was disappointed. When everyone at blizzard, even the old guard, acted like this is a shock and out of the blue I was angry because they couldn’t even fess up to it. And now in a vain effort to appear like things are changing at the company, they take it out on the fans of the game.
This doesn’t prove or even show they are making the smallest bit of effort to correct their own behavior in real life. Changing artwork isn’t going to make people think your offices aren’t full of sexual predators. Taking out /spit or whatever other emotes you feel is triggering isn’t going to change anything about how your company bullied its employees into silence.
It feels as though they actually hate the player base now, and I am closer to quitting than I ever have been in the past. 10+ years of this game, making friends, having a good time, hell I met my wife on this game. Its not my fault you guys are actually PoS, but I am being blamed because I /spit on a hordie in a bg or like to dress my barbie up in skimpy clothing or say a bad word.
I enjoy raiding and accomplishing a goal with friendly people in this game. I enjoy dungeon crawling. I don’t enjoy giving money to blizzard just for them to do this kind of stuff then pat themselves on the back and sniff their own farts about how progressive they are and how much they’ve changed now. I don’t know what to do other than quit and that makes me sad because I love this game and what its given to me throughout my time playing it.
Truthfully nothing. As hard as they have went after this, our disapproval was noted and ignored. The only options are endure or quit, I still have fun so I am going to stick around awhile, at least long enough to see what the next Xpack brings.
It’s really no different to what happened to the OSRS/RS3 split.
New-gen developers think they’re improving the game, only to alienate sections of their playerbase. While also attracting other people who like that new direction, effectively splitting their playerbase into 2 major clusters.
It is really just that men do not complain as often about being stared at or touched, although it happens more often than one might think.
That and a possible double standard when discussing sexism.
Hey, I am all for women being allowed to walk about without a top or bikini or whatever, hell, I would suggest we start doing it, make it the normal thing to do and then perhaps then we’ll stop viewing atleast that part as something sexual.
But we know why it’ll never happen, we like to have it like that because we want an extra thing to blame on the patriarchy.
Thing is though.
I am objectively correct.
I don’t do subjectives.
It’s almost like you have no say in the matter. Like you don’t own the game, someone else does.
Oh wait…

ah and so we see the beginning of the end of freedom. not everything except…
And my destiny is also my own.
I have to begrudgingly agree. But the more this stuff gets censored, the less I feel welcome or a sense of belonging. I’ve always felt “at home” in WoW, since 2005. This is the first time I get the sense I’m not part of the community anymore.
