Definite possibility. I’m only speaking from my experiences, hence why I came here. I do think there is alot of bias for the overtuning done however

You must be referring to PVP.

Cause Ret Paly in M+ can stand in fire. or any sh*t, and pop bubble or LOH to continue DPS and top the meters.

You mean one of the three pillars of the endgame? It’s not a seperate lesser mode.

I didn’t say that.
It’s an addon game, its not meant to be lesser or superior, simply something added on top of the base game.
Doesn’t prevent it from being one of the 3 pillars of end game either.
But the fact is, the vast majority of the content developed is for PVE, almost all their budget goes toward it and therefor the game is primarily PVE as a result.
The 2 other pillars do not “add” anything on top of the base game, your character does exactly the same things he does outside.
When they launch a new patch the marketing/communications always mention PVP in the last part of the posts because it’s not their main attraction for the content patch, it’s an addon.
When they post tuning fixes, PVP is always mentioned last because it’s an addon game and need to be specified independently.

Everything PVP related is added on top of the base game.
PVP talents are added on top.
PVP balance/modifiers is added on top of the base abilities.
World PVP is literally a switch you either put on or off.

So when someone complains about something that isn’t true at face value, it’s either because they are trolling, are being bad/ignorant about the game or they are talking about the addon game that is tuned with a completely different mindset than the base game.

My question for you is, pvp has existed before both mythic raiding and mythic + so wouldn’t those be add ons too?

Those are both evolutions of dungeon and classic raid, do I really have to point that out?

Just was curious if your thoughts. Well if you choose to see it as an add on that’s fine. I disagree though. But by having a wide range of opinions is what makes an MMO a cool thing!

I wasn’t trying to make it pass as a illegitimate gamemode, I’m sorry if it came out like this.

It’s just that it’s the only gamemode that actually modifies anything that as to do with what the classes can accomplish.

I think WoW PVP would be a massively better game were it completely separate from base WoW.

I don’t understand how it makes sense to have your PVP character be locked behind hours of gameplay only to have it massively changed or made worthless for other reasons, wasting all the time you’ve put into it.

Very few other PVP games works like this and the most successful PVP games just don’t operate like this at all.

They added a layer on top of the base game that is a complete nightmare to balance and manage because at its core any changes pisses off someone since its players against other players.
Which lead to them not really caring about it, going as far as not even trying to balance tanks (just making them down right bad) for the mode since it would be too much work to find an actual role for them in there.

Yes, we went back to having no defensives basically. I am dying thru divine protection 100% of the time. At 20% it feels like 0% and sov still does no damage when people just freely and willingly hit into it with no punishment. Healing was heavily nerfed and that means you have to bubble very early because you dont have the healing to bring yourself back up. Bubbling early means you are running thru your defensives a lot faster which in turn reduces the amount of gos you can survive.

(But but you can oneshot people!)
No you cannot, but other specs sure can like rogue, enhance, ww, arms, fury, havoc, evoker and will kill you thru divine protection. Whatever I knew the rework wasnt the ultimate fix.

Pvp modifier. A lot of ret abilities are really scaled down. Wings is the biggest culprit in my head.

Dp talented is 20%
Aw might is 10%damage healing-10% crit chance
Dawn with seal of order is 15%
Vanguard of justice is 15%
Both empyrean legacy and inquisitors ire were cut in like 40-50% I dont remember now.
Plus all the healing nerfs to baseline and talented flash of light, wog, healing hands, divine purpose, final recoking, sov… that we carry from bfa and SL.

There werw more pvp only changes but with so many from previous expansions and current I dont remember them all…

Divine protection is scaled down to 10% in pvp and wings is scaled down also
