at 2500mmr in 2s. they killed my disc in ~20secs, i killed the fury at the same time. Proceed to get essentially flawlessed by the prot pal. Dude just runs in circles healing and throwing judgements out that actually hit super hard like 15k until he can horse–>freedom at me to shield silence into hoj and then literally 100-0s me in a hoj–>dr warstomp. I used trinket, block, and 2nd block on three different HoJ’s because he actually does insane damage in melee range that i felt like i had to. I felt like trinketing silence would be terrible because he always has stun out so i basically have to sit the silences and eat damage. He actually takes no damage too so even with veins and a cs on his heals i coudlnt kill him, so not sure what else i could have done. All things considered, he did play it really well on his end even if its dumb on my end. so gg to him and the boy Mud.
but these are the things that happen in my life that make me complain about frost mage. So many completely hopeless matchups its depressing.
no prot spec should be allowed into the arena. Doesnt make much sense to me or anyone else. Also people that play prot in arena obviously cant get rating any other way so I just feel bad for them, but I guess if i had to option to easy mode prot I might give it a try as well.
yeah youre right. I havent qd frost in like a month. Damage isnt as bad as i thought. deep shatter still makes for good pressure despite me only having 1x tunnel of ice. I just feel like the spec is lacking “something” but not sure what that something is.
A few changes that I was thinking that could maybe put frost back on track with good burst potential are:
1.) Make ice nova stun the target for 2 seconds (act like a deep freeze)
2.) Buff up ice lance and flurry damage significantly.
3.) Have ebonbolt give flurry and 2 ice lance procs.
4.) Delete shimmer and replace it with alter time or an ability like PoM (where it can give instant sheeps/RoFs/virtually any casted damaging ability) or even a mobility boost similar to “Blazing speed”
I get that people don’t like playing against them. I don’t like playing against them. But is it not kind of dumb that for the most signature rpg in the world to not even feature 1/3 of the RPG roles in a competitive environment?
And on top of that. Why even give prot specs PvP talents if they’re not supposed to be used in some way? IMO, tank specs should be just as viable as any dps or healer spec. That isn’t me saying that current prot pal isn’t OP, because it is in a lot of ways. I just don’t think that the answer is to go back to a legion-type scenario where all of the tank specs are so heavily nerfed that you can’t really do anything with them.
OP literally said the furry warrior he faced just mindlessly ran at his disc and they murdered him with every CD, and managed to die in the process just brainlessly apeing his brains out, and still wins the game.
Im sorry, but no one respects you for playing prot pally in arenas, nor are your team mates more skillfull because they play with you.
I remember wearing mostly plate dps gear from icc as prot and destroying people without suffering the weakness of having less pvp gear on. It was silly.
I don’t really care about Prot one way or the other, I usually feel like I’m better off as Ret probably just because I have no time spent playing Prot so I’m not used to it.
I do find it mildly amusing though that it can kill a Frost Mage. Ret gets stomped on by mage, goes Prot, then Mage is mad that they lose to Prot. And so the cycle continues.
After we lost to you in 3s last night we ran into Prot War/Arms/MW. I preferred it over a Pally, but the games are so long either way. Their damage as Prot and their off heals are so stupid, they might as well be another healer. Remove all tank specs from arena thanks.
