Was leveling up an alt in elwynn and saw a level 11 warrior farming boars with suspicious pathing. Whispered them asking if they were a bot and they just kept going at it. They definitely are out there.

While I believe there are likely bots, and the strange pathing may be a much better tip off, whispering someone and not having them reply is about as good of a tell as saying, “I don’t know what that flying object is. It’s a UFO, so it must be aliens.”

People were also gathered around them following and then they didn’t say anything. 99% sure that’s a bot mate. But have fun playing the internet contrarian I suppose?

I’m not a bot denier by any means. I’m saying that having someone not whisper you back is just absolute garbage info; it doesn’t mean anything.

Are you even reading what I’m posting? I am saying that it may well be a bot, and the strange pathing is a much better indicator than whispering. However, messaging someone and them not messaging you back isn’t even worth mentioning as it doesn’t give any useful information in determining whether a character is a bot.

What are some creative ways to kill bots?
Any of the ways to kill a bot are also bannable offenses per Blizz’s griefing rule. This is the real hardcore mode. If you successfully kill them by griefing and you do not get banned, thus proving that they were a bot. OR you grief them to kill them and you get banned, proving that they were not a bot.
Roll the dice.

Stop whispering me when I’m killing boars. I’m not the warrior in question, but there is an active zone chat and a guild chat with 600 members. I shouldn’t be held responsible for your unhinged paranoia. I farmed boars for 30-45 minutes and was whispered at least a dozen times.

I farmed boars for a while on my Paladin, and noticed later I had some whispers sent to me.
Because I put them in a separate tab so I don’t get distracted at the wrong time.
I have seen a (very) few toons I suspect may have been botting. I k hope it stays at that relatively low number.
The bots i see are all in EPL at level 5 flyhacking under the map
I have people whisper and spam invite me why i farm… i just ignore you.
Stop looking in elwynn, do /who eastern plague lands. Skull rock had like 30 lvl 1s there earlier today. Just fly hacking to chests

So there I was, enjoying my great luck with copper nodes in Elwynn. Just absolutely stacking copper ore and stone in my bags, hitting each spawn with almost perfect timing. Then some guy comes along and whispers me “OBCENITY you OBCENITY BOT” and spits on me before running off. Then proceeds to come back and follow me, attempting to snipe nodes.
What a world! (of warcraft)
