I love where the game is at, having a lot of fun. Just really really tired of classes and specs.
So what I would love to see, somehow, is every talent for every class be available for people that want to build their own spec. Of course built down a line where you have to make choices.
Like I want a hybrid healer that wears Cloth and can use Dual Wield 2handers. So maybe I take Heroic Leap from Warrior, Stealth from Rogue, Ring of Peace from Monk etc etc etc… and build my own class.
Now I know this will probably never happen but holy cow, I think it would be amazing. The single talent tree would have to be super thought out and when it launches would definitely have some adjusting that needs done, but how cool would it be to build your own class?

That’s pretty much what Ascension is all about.
It’s WoW without the barriers.

Give remix a go next time it’s around. Gives a fair bit of class ability overlap.
I had a DK with Heroic Leap and absurd movement speed…
Remix was incredibly good for just fun!

I feel you OP. I’d love to have Monk/Warrior’s tank, Monk/Paladin’s healer, and Rogue/Monk/Shadow DPS. Tank convenience for groups. Healer fun for the random stress. DPS for the carry.

There would end up being 5 specs that are used.
Optimal Tank
Optimal Melee
Optimal Range
Optimal Healing
Optimal Buffer
Maybe 5 alternatives for M+ / AOE

Why you gotta bring hyperbole in here. Every class can reach +12. Some will have meta issues after +10. And the lower tiers will have issues getting into +10 without the gear.
It’s not an all or nothing situation. Every class can still get into content with enough time and patience.
I wish this game supported a multiclass system to create a unique class. I know it’s not a ttrpg and lore doesn’t support it but it would be fun.

You are looking for the game Enshrouded, not WoW, WoW will never ever have this.
This. Google is your friend.
Sounds like an absolute balancing nightmare. It’d be fun for sure.
sorry bro best we can do is cars and apartment complexes
your idea sounds cool though
alright so i pick ww monk but trade transcendance for lust and ring of peace for bubble and also trade vivify for brez
that sounds like fun
WoW still drops the ball on a lot of class fantasies that should be theoretically possible with only the Talent or Spec system. Can’t be a Battlemage, can’t 1h + shield dps (anymore), can’t 2x1h Fury War without giving up major DPS compared to 2x2h even with SMF, only gun class has pets and nature theming, Outlaw Rogue being forced to use stealth, etc etc so on.

I like having customization like that too, but wow as it currently is just doesn’t support that kind of freedom.
Some things that might interest you though are:
What he said, I definitely haven’t
tried it before. Making your class is pretty interesting and it can be fun.
You can also try, what was it, Archage 2? Something like that. They have a classless/custom class style to their gameplay too. I might be thinking of the wrong one though.
I have a feeling WoW might “steal” that idea down the line, once Hardcore runs out of steam.
WoW with gimmicky modes seems like a trend, like Remixes.

I hope Ashes if Creation doesn’t suck
It’s not hyperbole. With this idea there is 1 class with every talent. That means there would be optimal builds for each specialization of class. The only additional spec that could be added would be like a debuffer.
That’s really how it would play out. Look at the robust skill trees we have now and the diversity in builds are almost zero.
