I don't want to help Saurfang, either.

Recently, Ion did an interview that included this snippet:

The Alliance will learn of Saurfang's escape from a Horde hero in their midst and try to understand how a prisoner escaped from under their nose.

This is a really bad move and I hope it gets changed.

When I'm playing Alliance, I don't want to stand around wondering what the Horde are doing. I want to do my own thing. I absolutely do not care how Saurfang escaped and I'm tired of dealing with his manly stoic pain.

You need to realize, Blizzard, that when you release a faction war, you have to write two stories. This isn't Legion where we've got a unified threat. You have to give both factions something to do.

I don't care about Saurfang and I don't want to help him. No Alliance does.

We have plenty of heroes of our own to develop. Let the Horde have Saurfang and Sylvanas. Give us Alliance content, not recycled Horde content.
So what I think you're saying is, you want to do the horde quests as a robot cat.
The problem here is that the Alliance are just a super boring collection of factions.

The Tauren, Trolls, Blood Elves, Orcs, and Forsaken all have very different motivations and detailed histories.

The alliance races are almost entirely bland DnD tropes with almost zero flavor, and their factions and characters suffer from having very little depth.
You'd think you would care that Saurfang escaped. He may not have agreed with burning Teldrasil but he did mastermind every stage of the attack. From the feint at the Barrens to using rogues to assassinate guard forces in every Night Elf settlement in Ashenvale.

The Alliance would still have been victorious at the whisp wall had Saurfang not beaten a hidden path through Felwood to attack Darkshore from the North. He would have captured your tree. He would have held your people hostage.

You should care very much that Stormwind bungled and allowed the most important prisoner in Azeroth's history to escape their custody and possibly lend his tactical mind once again to The Horde war machine.
You think you want your own content but you dont. What you really want is more Warchief roulette and Horde civil war and the Alliance just reacting to it, I know I sure do.

Maybe. If it had never been done before. But breaking out of what I would assume is the Alliance’s most secure prison is pretty common place now. So...shrug?
OP please join the Horde.
Speak for yourself. As Alliance I want to be heavily involved with Saurfang and his rebellion and assist him. He spared Malfurion and Tyrande, and even spared Anduin. He has more than earned his trust for me. I’m going to do my part to help him topple Sylvanas if I can, it’s the LEAST I can do.

Im sure the Alliance will get a branching story line on if they help Saurfang out or not. I mean obviously not only the horde would get to make that decision...

Seriously, we've already broken in and out of Stocks in 8.0. Now in 8.1 we have one War Campaign quest to break into another prison and then Saurfang's release from Stocks. Get some cameras, ya'll.
I have a feeling you are in for a surprise if you think this is really an expansion about a faction war.
I imagine this will tie into the whole 3 lies he will tell you. ‘No, Saurfang totally broke out all by himself. I didn’t let him go.’

And then since we have nothing else Tyrande and Malfie will find out and say how upset they are. then we will ignore it ever happened for the rest of the expansion.
Im telling mom!!
This is just Robot Cat part 2. I was wrong to expect anything more from Blizzard...

You don't know that.

Tyrande and Anduin didn't part as friends, and Genn chose his debt to the Kal'dorei over his loyalty and friendship to Anduin. Now all parties are returning to find that the military mind behind The War of Thorns is once again at large.

If Tyrande learns that Anduin released Saurfang there should be fireworks.

See bolded. Ion is saying the Alliance are wondering how he escaped...as in they dont know. You are saying you don't care. So, then....don't care....

Based on Ion's statement though, I don't see a questline where Alliance are trying to figure out what happened to Saurfang. Or that Alliance are forced to help Saurfang.

As for Alliance content and hero development, do you mean how Tyrande becomes a badass?

And as for something to do, is it not enough to be able to kill a Horde leader?
Agreed 100%

Saurfang is an enemy, he should be dead and we should be trying to kill him now having our stupid king fanboy over him.

That is an interesting point. As an alliance stabby person, I might not actually care how he escaped. Why? Because as many people pointed out, he is a threat. I would be much more interested in trying to find him and kill him. The only reason I might care how he escaped is because it might tell me where he is going. But since no one tells my character what is going on and how he sort of on our side, the obvious answer is he would be trying to get back to the horde. So I would go looking. Not in the prison cause he ain’t there.

Yeah ... so badass that she STILL can't beat Nathanos or prevent him from desecrating the dead.
Saurfang is ruining both factions storylines. Just kill him off and be done with it.
