I don't want to feel force to farm onyx ring/neck

I have a couple 70s.
For 10.0.0 - 10.0.5 I have done the following.

BG to 70 to afford and honor set.
Buy an honor set.
Queue for shuffle and BGs.
Sell stuff from boxes to buy crafted PvP gear via work orders.

That’s it.

To me, pre70 is like doing the story mode in Smashbros.
You do it to unlock characters and then you play those characters in online matches.

That’s it. That’s the game loop. You come home, you queue, you play.

Now you want to re-introduce punchcards but not even competing with a trinket slot? Really? So now I have to go farm those because the last time you introduced punchcards disc priests were 100 to 0ing people with schism cyclotronic during a kidney shot.

I don’t want to play without the 1 shot beam, obviously. No one does.

BUT YA’LL SAID YOU WERE DONE DOING THIS. Just like how I didn’t want to grind islands for azerite neck level to get op traits, just like how I didn’t want to farm rares in nazjatar for the mana efficiency essences, just like how I didn’t want to do dailies in nzoth invasions to get keys for corruptions, just like how I didn’t want to grind to revered to get cyclotronic… I don’t want to do that.

I don’t want to feel forced to get it.
Stop. You said you were done with this nonsense. Please stop.

Then don’t

If it ends up being a core part of gameplay, like cyclotronic was, that’s like say “don’t use mortal strike.”

That’s a dumb thing to say.

“JuSt DoNt UsE AzErItE aRmOr.”

I just can’t quit, I’m sorry. I like the way it makes me feel.

iirc those items dont have secondary stats so they may not even be that great compared to higher ilvl items?

They compared to it punchcards, which had insane on demand burst that stacked with other damage increasing effects. It was a core part of the meta until it had to be nerfed into the ground.

The secondary stat loss didn’t matter.

Your complaint is aimed at PvP which not only usually gets PvE items gutted by 50%, but has an IL modifier on their gear that makes most PvE items unusuable.

Are people really going to willingly drop like 40+ IL worth of stam and like 500 vers on a ring for a marginal damage proc?

I’m similar

Except:

I have 7 @ 70

All I do is raid and M+

Some characters do Heroic(3), some do normal(up to 5) and some just do M+(2 so far).

I like the freedom to login to whatever toon I want to play, and be able to. I have 0 desire to kill rares on this toon(my “main”) I sure as heck wont be doing it on alts. I decide I wont get the ring, and if anyone says anything to me I will just not raid at all.

I rather not raid, then be forced to do content I don’t find to be fun, when I play to have fun. I could just break until season 2.

I like my free time spent leveling/gearing more alts, not doing grinds/farms/rares/world content

So Blizzard fooled you pvpers again???

Dont think a ring is going to get you out of 1300. You’ll be right.

Depending on the proc rate of things like indomitable earth? Potentially, yes. If that proc rate is high, it’s another Trident of the Deep Ocean situation.

Everyone else is ‘forced’ to do content they don’t want to for rewards - why do you think you are special?

Was I “special” the past 4 months of however long the expansion has been out?
It’s fine the way it is, right now, and has been since launch.

I’m saying “don’t change it.” That has nothing to do with being special.

you must have been if you haven’t been forced to do any content you don’t want to - time to ‘share the misery’.

Do you, right now, complain about the Eranog/Broodkeeper rings and such which have procs on fully statted items that add quite a noticeable boost to survivability/damage?

But why would they listen to you if are not someone special . Do other pvpers share your opinion ? cause I will then find it very hard to believe that you are able to coordinate them to agree on something w/o going at each other.

They’ve said the intent is that these aren’t supposed to have a big impact on season 2 and should be replaced relatively early in the cycle. Yes they’ll probably be the best ring until season 2,but they shouldn’t last long after that.

None of the gems have on demand effects, they’re basically all random procs with only 3 having any kind of predictability. 2 are defensive and the 3rd requires not using abilities to increase it’s effectiveness.

  • Frost effects from Primordial Stones restore 996 mana over 3 sec.

  • Taking damage has a chance to shield yourself, absorbing 50533 damage for 12 sec.

  • Gaining an absorb shield from a Primordial Stone erupts the ground, dealing 17188 Physical damage to enemies within 5 yd.

  • Gain a Frost shield every 20 sec that absorbs 33689 damage and slows melee attackers by 15% for 5 sec.

i dunno how the whole thing works but these all sound like they’ll be pretty mandatory in pvp vs not having them

Nah, I’ll just peace out a week into the patch like I did when I saw domination gems in 9.1.

Ain’t nobody got time for another BFA.

The 20 people with their 8 alts a piece taking 90% of all currently minted glads while playing in rival mmr are all gonna be really upset with this change kek
