I am blown away by the lack of care that TBC is being giving verse the way classic was treated.
First I don’t understand why the announcement was made about Drenai and Bloodelves being available in pre-patch if you are not going to give them enough time to level. This makes no sense.
Next there have been complaints about the PVP changes, specially around S1/S2 require ratings. Also things about tuning in Karazhan. What have we gotten from you on a response… nothing.
So not only did you introduce boost, but you are now also giving away a free epic mount(edit:clarified as not free). I believe this going to make it too easy for bots to get started after every ban wave.
Your release has giving no time for a lot of player to prepare, with either time off, or getting some of the other characters level. You just increase and showed support for dungeon boosting. Congratulations.
You have added items that do not even exist in TBC all to sell a deluxe addition and it makes me sick.
I have been waiting for TBC forever, classic was just the line to get the ride i wanted. I was so excited for TBC with the way you treated Classic. Now I am doubting if I even want to play and support you guys games any more. 20+ year veteran of blizzards and I think I have finally had enough.
Edit: Remove the bot comment of giving code away, as it is hyperbolic and statement was made in point of frustration. As i believe is adds nothing to the conversation and takes away from the point
It’s one of those things where you’re mostly just going to have to decide if you want to put up with it, or if it’s enough that you’re willing to quit over it.
The community didn’t offer a unified voice against those things, and Blizzard already barely listens to us even when we do have a unified voice. They were always going to side with the people who wanted boosts and a mount, because that’s the option where they make more money(and before the pro-boosters get here, I don’t exactly blame Blizzard for making this decision).
For my part I’m gonna play TBC. If the slippery slope people bang on about comes true, I have my line that I’ll quit if they cross.
Its like they are spitting in the faces of the classic wow player base with the way they are handling tbc. Its pretty sad to see… I’m just happy i got to play classic and meet all the great people grob & bigglesworth had to offer
I can easily see it getting worse. Original WotLK is when things like cash shop mounts got underway with the sparkle pony, and at this point a level 68 boost might as well be confirmed for it.
I should probably note though that quite a few people around here use the slippery slope idea to talk about stuff that is completely absurd like selling raid gear or warglaives.
Which isn’t even something that retail does where the cash shop is significantly more accepted by the playerbase.
As a general rule: If retail doesn’t go that far with it, classic isn’t going to.
I could see them getting worse with stuff like cosmetics, though.
This is like the ONE thing that sort of makes sense. I don’t agree with allowing early access to leveling new races really in the first place but it’s not a MAJOR point of contention. The main reason I dislike it is that it initially served as a means to prevent SOME dark portal bottlenecking.
The way it’s going to work in TBC classic, likely a bunch of players who wanna level these (minus the uber hardcores) simply won’t make it to 58 in time, but they WILL at least have had some degree of headstart, so it’s a win/win from that perspective.
I guess you can’t deal with any hyperbole, specially when a base has felt slighted. If that one line makes you look away from the rest of the facts then really you have nothing to add to the conversation and a reply like this wasn’t even necessary.
That is a fair point that I didn’t look at. The way it was mention at blizzcon it made it seem or I assumed that it was to allow the people who want to play those class in TBC to be at the same advantage as the rest of the players at release.
I suppose that would be a reason. i did not hear them use that as an explanation. But it is at least somewhat logical. it still flew in the face of the reason they gave for boosting at all though. for newer players to be able to play with their friends. just seemed silly to block those races. but this reason, even though i think its stupid, is at least an attempt at something.
For the gameplay changes I haven’t really viewed any of them as being actually gamebreaking. Sure they should start people off at 1500 rating in PvP like was the case in TBC proper, but I don’t think starting at 0 ruins the game.
As for the mount the only information I can find is that you get Apprentice Riding with the boost which is 60%. Unless I’m missing something, I’m not sure where people are getting free 100% riding from. I can’t find anything that suggests the DE mount actually gives you Journeyman Riding skill.
Other than that mounts should still be 60% at 30 and 100% at 60 like it was in TBC.
At this time stamp he I believe is listening to a developer talk about the mount. Hopefully I can post this link (https://youtu.be/Ofu0OIEUd2g?t=1118). yes i know who this is but it is who he listening to which i believe is more important
The PVP thing isn’t just the rating it is the fact that S1/S2 now require rating in order to get gear. That was never a thing in the original. There was some classes that were SoL on gear so they pvp to get an item in pve. This drastically changes the flow of original TBC.
Yeah but this is something that happened during TBC. The only change is that they’re applying it to S1/2 instead of just S3.
Which using the final patch for stuff isn’t exactly different from how Classic worked.
Who exactly is he listening to? Because that guy doesn’t sound like he 100% knows what is going to be the case either(and I know virtually nothing about YouTubers/Streamers so I don’t know if it’s just another one or not)
If I look up the item on WoWhead it looks like it might be a 100% speed mount that requires level 40 and Apprentice Riding rather than Journeyman Riding like 100% mounts do.
Which would give you a 100% mount before other players can normally get it, but you’d still need to actually buy Journeyman Riding before being able to buy Expert Riding for a flying mount.
I don’t think it applies to flying and wasn’t really referring to flying. If you are someone who is starting fresh in tbc and you don’t get the deluxe when you hit 40; you may be in contenting wish someone who does have deluxe, giving them X advantage. I see it as P2W to a degree.
