I don't understand what is happening with Mythic +

I’m not here to particularly complain but to merely inquire as to why the loot chance is so low and why only 35 anima is given. I guess some of what I am asking is complaining, but what is Blizzard trying to accomplish here? I’ve been running 7-9’s and one piece of loot drops and the rest get 35 anima. Not going to lie, when you get past 7 the mythics start seriously ramping up in difficulty and I’m not seeing why 35 anima and artificially inflating a gear drought is the solution to what exactly?

TL;DR What exactly is Blizzard fixing by making no gear drop in Mythic + and Nathria?

Well it’s not fun. I haven’t gotten to level 170 yet and the thought of doing mythic dungeons for nothing sucks. I was already on the fence about this expansion. Not sure what their intention is but I’m not having fun at all with this grind.

Which is funny since Blizzard is hotfixing Nathria since it was dropping too much loot

Yea I’ve run 10 M+ so far, and gotten 2 pieces of gear (from a 2 and a 3). None of the 4s and one 5 dropped anything which was very frustrating. Pulling strong dps, and know the fights, but I’m getting gear locked from going any further, as the higher lvl groups want ilvl 190.

Since you can spam m+ the gear output has been lowered, simple.

This is a mmo, they need to keep people engaged playing. Now their methods might not be the best but that’s the nature. As much as people want to gear there has to be a invisible wall in how fast people can gear. If there is none you will have people maxing out their ilvl within days and then complaining there is nothing to do.

I have no problems with the drop rate. However a couple of things need changed.

They need to move all legendries to end bosses.

They need to add a “badge” system that allows you to store up currency to buy slot items for when you have RNG streaks that are equivalent to drops.

See, they got a lot of feedback about how gear is great and meaningful in classic; while gear in retail is forgetful. They completely ignored the bits about the bland and predictable stat distrubtion, or set bonuses, dungeon sets, tier gear, percent stats and proc damage effects… and went straight to “Well, classic dropped less gear. So this is what they’re asking for!”

Yea having at least a badge system for m+ would help a ton if they arent changing the loot rates.

But knowing Blizz it’d be like 170ilvl gear

Having run a few after work the past few days, I think a good fix would be 2 pieces from the chest, +1 if you time the key for a total of 3. That helps things feel rewarding without showering us in low-quality items like BFA did.

Man… It must be fun to be able to get into M+
I have been playing since launch day, chaining heroics nightly since then. (granted i went a bit slower with leveling and didn’t cap until near the weekend or on the weekend, ish) I have yet to climb above 170ilevel; current 166.

most people would respond with
“oh go figure you don’t get a drop every single boss in a dungeon suck it up”
(or so i have experienced in this regard)

well yes, its not that I expect a drop every fight. or every dungeon for that matter. but… going on 2 weeks of dungeon grinding to still be under 170 is rough, the people who i started with are pushing into the mid 180s.
feelsbad, but life goes on

m+ = Don’t do it and get the same thing you get for doing it. Nothing.

The weekly chest. One of the tradeoffs for the ability to pick from a pool was fewer in-dungeon drops.

It’s better than 0? :woman_shrugging:

A few things:

1.) They are responding to the devaluation of raid gear, which huge chunks of the player base from multiple levels of play spent the entirety of BfA complaining over. “purple rain” was a constant refrain. “Gear no longer means anything.” They’re responding, in part, to that.

2.) M+ is spammable. There is no limit to how many M+ dungeons you can run. Groups can stack groups with an armor class to funnel gear to a guild mate and have him go from fresh ding to heroic raid gear capped in one day. They have done this to discourage that.

3.) They’re trying to close the gearing gap between people who play a reasonable number of hours and the no-lifers like me who can spend literally all day ingame if they so choose.

4.) Gear drops at a slightly lower rate than it did in BfA. It keeps you from outgearing the game in one afternoon.

Do you like PvP? Conquest Gear is level 200 and is good for PvE too. You could probably get the whole set in a week if you have a RBG team.

Do like 3 BGs and get the honor gear, replace your shoulders and boots and you’ll easily have enough to get started.

Didn’t know it was that easy… never even considered BG’s…
Mind you I have done my best to steer clear of anything PVP related in this game since most of that side of the community has more toxicity in it than all of maldraxxus, but hey thanks for the shout.

for a few more BGs you could use the upgrade vendor and get it even higher, hes right next to the PVP quest giver in oribos

I actually see this as a good thing. I now have a valid excuse not to run M+.

What i am arguing here is the currently difficulty past level 7 keys. They are borderline ridiculous with current ilvl restrictions and offer absolutely nothing for the difficulty. Not to mention finding a grouo that is even capable of doing them is very hard. Right now I just feel no incentive to even do them.

I mean… we are just starting the expac. Soon more people will have better gear and it’ll get easier. Thats part of the reason for the slowdown. This way people aren’t in top gear 3 weeks in and burnt out unsubbing in 1-2 months.
