at this point I’m too afraid to ask.
I’m just fortunate to have a group of friends to run with, so I don’t have to worry about it. The pug world looks like hell as a result of raiderio.
It basically records your top mythic+ dungeons completed. People hate it as a metric to see how good a player is. So far it’s been ok for me.
off topic but looking pretty good with that mog bro
Hehe thanks. xD
So it has nothing to do with raiding? How come it’s called raider io??
Good question. Figured it was originally designed to be a tool for raiding? Your guess is as good as mine.
Raider io is a must. It allows you to pug people and know they know the fights. Anyone can fake link or buy aotc, but raider IO doesn’t lie.
My only big issue with Raiderio is that it has to count all dungeons and take them into account for your score.
I’ve run Waycrest Manor extensively on many key levels trying to get a Balefire Branch. If I sign up for a Waycrest Manor group, why should it matter if I’ve never run Shrine of the Storm with a key?
I think when you invite someone it shows your best for that dungeon AND your overall score. But yeah I think most people only look at the score so you do have a point.
it’s a measure of experience. i understand you may know WM very well after farming it but it’s a score for your overall experience with m+
and, tbf, in the very specific situation where i have two options for dps and both have a timed 10 WM but the other has a timed 10 SoTS, I’ll probably trust the latter guy more. i know how hard a 10 shrine is and so does that guy but the other guy doesn’t.
obviously this is super specific but all experience is relevant in m+
Yeah for sure, it’s understandable. That’s just the biggest pain with Raiderio, it forces you to run dungeons you might not really want to. I’m sure we all have those one or two we don’t like. xD
For me it’s Underrot and Tol Dagor, for my friend it’s Motherlode.
So what’s considered a good score? And what if every time you get into a pug group, someone DC’s, or rage quits, or someone else sucks causing you to miss the timer? I wish there was a “Wasn’t my fault” check box by each run.
Raider. io converts every completed key into a score. The base value of your key is ten times its level. A level 2 key is worth 20 points. A level 10 key is worth 100 points.
Your score is adjusted based on how fast you complete the key. You gain additional points for finishing the key in time and lose points for depleting the key.
When you finish a key, Raider. io will attempt to pull its result from Blizzard’s official Mythic+ leaderboards so it can run it through its algorithms and give you your score. If these leaderboards are already full (they have room for 500 keys per server and reset weekly) and your key does not place within the top 500 runs done that week on your server, Raider. io will be unable to get the result and your key will therefore be worth 0 points. This is a known, valid issue with Raider. io.
To get your final, final score, Raider. io takes the results of your best key ever of each dungeon during the current season, in terms of points, and adds them all together. If you’ve done a +5 of every dungeon and finished exactly in time, along with a +6 of one dungeon and a +7 of another, your final score would be 530 (50*8, plus 60 and 70).
If you have a successful +10 AD on your record, and then go deplete a +8 AD, your Raider. io score is unaffected. Raider. io only cares about your BEST key of each dungeon during any given season. Failed keys are ignored unless they’re your best key for that dungeon this season (in which case they’re probably easy to overwrite with a future successful key).
In this manner, you can properly understand a score of 400 as “this player has completed a +4 of every dungeon in time”. A score of 1000 means “this player has completed a +10 of every dungeon in time”, on average. It could also mean “this player has completed a +12 Freehold (120 points) and a +11 of every other dungeon except Kings’ Rest (11*8=880 points)”. Those values also add up to 1000, even though the player has never completed a Kings’ Rest key in time.
Hopefully this explanation made sense. Feel free to reply with any questions you may still have.
This is completely inaccurate.
Story time !
For the needs of the guild, I leveled a new fresh paly heal.
I hit ilvl 375 1 day ago and decided to try some M+.
It took me less than 5 applies to get into +2 Mythic. With 0 IO score.
Today, my ioscore is not 0. I excpect to get into +3…+4 groups without problems.
Pally ilvl is 375
breh. THIS mog though
The thing you are tring to compare isn’t relevant side by side though.
Its 10 times harder as a dps than a healer and at 370 you are pretty well overgearing a +2.
So many people sign up for the odd low dungeon here and there whether it be for a mount or a specific item.
Also comparing a low key to +10 is next to impossible. I know how hard it is to get into a +10 as fury and i dont care enough about my io to pug when i can just run with friends i made, have a great time and get the same results as a pug
Considering that I’ve seen players with a 1k score who sucked, it doesn’t gauge skill. It only measures experience.
There are 1500 io players that suck too. But just like 1000 io players it’s rare or I’ve been lucky.
I don’t think it’s a common thing, no, but I am paranoid enough to want to look at their run history rather than just the score.
