I don't think the Microsoft deal should go though

I try restraining on talking about the same topic twice, because i rather that be it’s only thing to talk about unless a lot of time flies back and it’s good to update somewhat on that. But the last one about this gotten WAY off-topic by some people because they focused on a particular popular app that everybody uses that i’ve mentioned in one of my throwaway points in what’s suppose to be a casual conversation for everybody alike, about the rumor.

And i really want to focus on this, so… consider that last thread to be different here for how unfocused it was there. (Plus, the title didn’t specify anything) Infact, the focus shifted greatly on to… that throwaway point, that nobody to barely was talking about the main point.

Also, i’m going to leave out other Microsoft gaming related app here, as much i love it, it’s not the focus either.

Short story about me, i was with this idea of MS buying Acti-Blizzard, until i’ve saw this rumor.

The gaming industry is in a peculiar spot at the moment. We’re in something of a limbo as we wait for Xbox’s potential purchase of Activision Blizzard to either go through or totally crash and burn in the face of claims that it could monopolise the industry. It’s a lot.

Many of us just want some Activision Blizzard titles on Game Pass, and at this stage, it’s starting to feel like it isn’t worth the hassle. As the console wars rage on, is Sony secretly rolling out the big guns in retaliation?

And there’s more articles about this obviously. This isn’t the only one, just one of many.

Yes, i hear you saying, this is a rumor now. So keep in mind, this is all speculative until we have further evidence if it’s true or not.

We know for a fact for a while now that Sony wasn’t too thrilled about this deal that Microsoft is buying Activision-Blizzard. What with trying to get the officials in Europe involved and so on. Jim Ryan himself, personally is miffed about it.

Buying the studios outright, could lead the games to potentially being locked to the platforms. In order words, if either deal goes though here, CoD would be Xbox/PC Exclusive, and GTA would be PS/PC exclusive (There’s no way Sony will skip out on PC cash after their successful PC ports, like Spiderman, Horizon Zero dawn, God of War, and etc).

I know some will say “Just buy the PC version then”, but let’s not forget that some companies like to do the timed exclusives thing, or take time to get to the PC ports. Remember Crash/Spyro PC ports and how long that took? or some of the Cod Games? How about GTA 5 or Red Dead Redemption 2? Some are better then others and just allow their games to go on other competitor’s platform anyways.

Multiplats, makes the most money, because more people get to play them. And this what pretty much makes me think “this deal shouldn’t go through”.

That’s my opinion on this rumor. I try not to discuss rumors, but in terms of how close to home it hits in terms of gaming here, it ought to be right to maybe look into it. Share your thoughts and opinion down here, and i will catch you the next time.

i heard on a podcast that this acquisition is important to Microsoft because of the King part, which i agree with. Microsoft has no presence in mobile gaming. King is… king in mobile gaming… i think

MS has horribly mismanaged every one of its acquisitions I have no clue why anybody wants them to own ActiBlizz as well, the Xbox brand is a complete failure and instead of bowing out of the industry MS is just trying to buy out the competition instead of admitting defeat its just pure scummy behavior Sony rightfully is trying to nip this in the bud but too many gamers are too stupid to see what’s going on and think these soulless corporations are their friend.

Well i can think of one reason why anybody would want to buy them out. And it rhymes with FamePass.

And tbh, Sony isn’t much better either since it bought it fair share of companies too.

EA says “yeah, they are doing great”

Probably no worse for Blizzard than Activision owning them and I never wanted Activision to own Blizzard.

pretty much how every corporation works

eh, SONY is not doing the consumer any direct favors. They want to “nip this in the bud” for competition to MS. If they had the same cash as MS, they would be trying to purchase Activision instead of MS.

  1. the only friends corporations have are on their quarterly earnings call
  2. too many gamers don’t realize in a subscription based game (or really any subscription service) the game is no longer the product but instead the subscriber is the product.
