I don't like that you aren't the main character

Seriously, this is one thing i will say that I HATE about WoW.

Every MMORPG makes you the main character except WoW. FFXIV, Guild Wars 2, And even ESO. Even a lot of RPGs in general like BG3 make you the main character.

And even when you are front and center in WoW, you’re treated as a side character. You’re like that one kid in school who hangs around in the back, doing absolutely nothing. The NPCs will “acknowledge” you but then immediately go to another character

You kill a bunch of enemies, kill the big baddie, save the world, and then somebody named Kevin steals the glory and takes credit for everything.

I feel the exact opposite tbh

I’m tired of being a world-saving andy, I just wanna be a footsoldier with no expectations from me at all

How long have you played WOW?

By the endgame of every expansion, you do become one of the main characters on the level with some of the most well known NPCs.

Weren’t we the main characters in Warlords of Draenor? We’re the commander, ruling an army and expedition. I like being an “adventurer”

I would rather we never come close to MC like old wow or old school runescape where we are just adventurers

The “main hero” trope doesnt fit wow well imho

I was once given the title “Savior of Azeroth”.

Main hero is weird in a game with… thousands of other main heroes. I don’t think it’s done particularly well in any of the examples in the OP.

I just make up my own story as I play where Rosenivy is more of a main character.

Canonically, we’re on a literal first name basis with all the prominent characters for both factions. Entire plans hinge on our participation. We’re the farthest thing from random adventure 4438908734795. This makes total sense too. The story would need to devolve and become as stupid and boring with threat levels on par with roadside bandits for the NPCs to NOT recognize us for the literal god slaying heroes we are.

You don’t just to go punch a cosmic deity with the power to reshape the very fundamental laws of the universe and reality itself or defeat an alternate universe invading force and people not learn who you are.
