I dont like playing with other people

I have never really been into group content, outside of discovering the game with my friends many years ago. Like many others my friends quit after WoTLK was over.

After that I became a solo player. Most times I’ve tried getting in with a new group it isn’t a good experience. I’m just not much into the way gamers communicate with each other online. Things get personal way to quick if things go wrong, it doesn’t help that this community is probably one of the worst or at least in top 5 worst.

The newest expansion doesn’t really bring anything new to solo players like we had in SLands. We had unique covenants to join, different campaigns to do for each one, mission tables for quick easy gold each with a unique playstyle. We had Torghast which I personally loved. The abilities were so unique the chaos you could create building a character was tons of fun.

BFA two different campaigns based on faction, mission tables for quick easy gold, new races to unlock, daily WQ, Warfronts, Islands, huge main story campaign. Heart of Azeroth and its abilities.

Legion had class hall campaigns, tables… I think you get the point.

DF is like a giant simple turd. Very low effort to push out, easy to flush.

Everything is group focused, full of bugs, really boring, the new rep grinds for Cobalt and Wrathion are absolutely garbage. Some of the most uninspired, unexciting content I’ve seen in years. Renown basically grinding to earn fork and hammer transmogs. Digging dirt, yawn. Professions? A disaster. The questing and main campaign? The only thing keeping me away way being forced to drive a dragon with the same system c/p from GW2 Gryphon.

Nothing about this expansion is fun as a solo player.
Do better Blizz.

This community is not everyones cup of tea, you know it, we all know it. Please don’t turn your backs on solo players - we may be loners but there’s a lot of us.

Game is not for you. Go play a single player rpg

Yes, it is. This is a single-player MMORPG for those who want it to be.

We are. WoW is the single-player RPG we chose.

Queue solo then, pug raids and M+

I do and no issue whatsoever. Actually prefer it really, not being locked into a raid for 2 hours at a time with a guild and losing your spot if you want to dip.

“I avoid most content and I ran out of content to do. Why wont blizzard cater to people like me?”

I don’t know anyone who plays this game like a single player game.

Probably because they’ve never talked to me but still!..

I feel like these topics would be more useful if you express what you’d like to see more of.

E.g. for me I wish that Blizz would leverage their timewalking and questing experience a lot more. There’s nothing I enjoy more than starting a new character, creating some backstory and having them go on their adventure.

So things like Chromie time kicking you out and not having a coherent story experience doesn’t make that experience very fun.

I also think that implementing some race/class epic questlines across every expansion to create some sort of narrative would be fun. Add in unique race/class transmog sets and maybe throw in a bit of Archaeology to add in some lore easter eggs about a zone.

And the best part is that this is the kind of content that everyone can consume.

Counter point. How is it that everyone can consume this content and not m+ content?

I’ve never really been a burger fan.

But I’m gonna go to 5 guys and demand they accommodate my desire for french onion soup

I’d say people generally have a stronger aversion to group content than solo content. The barrier of entry for solo entry is very low while the barrier entry for m+ is higher where you’ll require a lot more investment in terms of class research, dungeon/mechanic understanding, and also some degree of socialization and conflict management. Compared to just “lemme log in and quest”.

I dont make alts to level. I do everything I can to avoid playing WoW by myself.

I dont want to research questlines.

I’m not going to lie. I liked it too and miss it, would have loved to see a new one for DF.

BUT. I did not like a currency for power being tied to it.

When I did it for fun I had a much better time. If they ever do anything like this again it should be for unique cosmetics, mounts, pets, unique questlines. Not made to be a requirement for everyone. I know a lot of people that do not like roguelite games.

Hi, I’m Shreds.

Now that you know me, you can’t say that anymore.

Well, you can, but you’d be lying.

Go to Outback. They have burgers AND French Onion Soup.

Thats the equivalent of telling a solo player to play another game, instead of trying to get WoW changed.

Well I don’t think there’s any perfect system, but one example I can think of is it the warden transmog set. One of the common arguments I see about these things being tagged to a system like the trading post is that it would be better off being implemented as an epic questline that is part of the game’s story/lore, and also to make old zones relevant again. That’s just one small part of what I’m talking about, but hopefully it helps you understand where my mind is at.

I get what you are saying.

What I am saying is that there are a ton of people that dont do solo questlines because they dont find it fun. Same way people dont do m+. Or Raid.

Just sorta pushing back on the idea that it would be content for everyone. I really wouldnt want a full content patch to be based on just adding a bunch of leveling questlines. Something I would most likely never see.

That’s fair. I think this then goes on to what makes more financial sense. If I were Blizz I wouldn’t want to disrupt things too much especially cause they’re not in the best position to change things up, and their dev team seems to be struggling as it is. But then I’d also think something like this could be a breath of fresh air and attract some new/old players. Ofc they’d have to do some market research to know for sure.

In terms of practical advice to the OP though, with what we know now, it’s a lot better to play multiple games rather than to expect WoW to change overnight.
