I don't like Full Opt in or Out of XP/Gold buff

I know not everyone agrees with this, but I like questing. I like trying to do all the quests at a relevant level.

I really wish I had the option to keep the gold buff and turn off the xp buff. This kinda ruins alts for me (yes I know this is the exception not the rule, but I’m also sure I’m not the only one who feels this way).

Can you please add the ability to just disable XP and not the gold? I was holding off playing characters for this patch for the gold boost, but now it looks like I have to reevaluate.

The gold increase is BECAUSE of the exp increase. If they didn’t increase the gold you get you’d never be able to afford skills you’d be leveling so fast. If you don’t want to level as fast you don’t need the gold boost. It really is that simple.

It’s not like when you reach max level you can’t do the quests
You can quests at any level at any time

I guess for me… I’m kinda OCD about the rep.

Unless they adjusted it, doing a quest at more than 5 levels below your current level lowers the rep you gain. My main is Revered with all 4 horde factions and still has lots 35+ quests to do at 40.

So turn off the exp buff, problem solved… ohhh but you want all the money too so that’s another problem. They designed it this way on purpose instead of two separate buffs. You only really NEED the extra money because you are leveling faster.

The gold buff is trash anyway. Most quests give little to no money before the late 20s and early 30s. You’re better off grinding to 40 in SM and questing for gold at max level.

You do have a valid argument that the boost is for new players that would need more money for skills.

However, even with a tripling of the quest gold, it’s not like doing all the quests on an alt at level like I’m suggesting would be more profitable than using your main to do activities to make money.

A level 40 can get 10-20 gold an hour easy enough on pretty much any class, so it’s not like I’m asking for some game-breaking exploit to be able to slow down my leveling while still benefitting from the gold increase.

I doubt they’re going to redesign a feature for three people.

Sorry.

I wonder what the actual truth is to this.

I have a Warlock at level 14 so easy enough to reroll.

Maybe I’ll start over and see how much gold I end up by strictly leveling up by questing with a few dungeons mixed in for the quests.

Three people and one Druid.

plz gib Behsten and Slahtz, losing out on rep because of gray questing is literally an existential threat oww oww the pain oww.

It’s not a full opt out.

You quest normally, you get your normal amount of gold.
You still get your mount for half price.

Problem solved.

This is a “I want my cake and eat it too” kind of statements that really make you question why the OP decided they should be able to get one benefit if they choose not to take both. If you like questing and doing it for rep, the quests are still there and now you can get to max level and get more gold. Win-win.

Obviously I’m in the vast minority here, and there’s basically zero support for my feedback, so it’s obviously not worth dev time to cater to such a small minority.

I appreciate you all voicing your opinions and taking time to participate in the conversation.

While I would like this change personally, I admit defeat.

Happy Leveling!

how do you turn off buff?

Talk to an Innkeeper and there is an option to deactivate it.

lmaooo
the gold increase is to compensate for the excelerated xp
sorry broseph
go in peace

I did a few levels today. It’s a very noticeable difference, even if you’re training every two levels. I’m loving it.

Then why do you need it?

You won’t make much - the gold gain is going to be eaten up by your more frequent training, making the overall benefit flat.

They don’t only want to have what they want, they want you to not have what you want.
