I started in TBC on Sentinels but I’m sure things are a lot different now. I would like to focus on WPVP but with semi-hardcore raiding. Would anyone have any good references? Thanks

There are going to be 8 server supposedly at launch. 1 is RpPvP 1 is RpPvE. That leaves either 3-4 of them to PvP.
The servers are located in Chicago and LA for the USA. So only 1-2 servers will be in the ideal location for best ping for you.
Pick the one with best ping. If two have same ping, decide based on which one has the highest population. If you want one with max population pick that one. If not pick the other.
Ping matters if PvP is your favorite activity. As such you absolutely should not pick the slower server.

That is what China is getting as far as we know. We have no idea how many servers we’ll get here.
We will know before the weekend how many servers we are getting according to the most recent Blue post.
