But please stop focusing so much on balance, please prioritize fun and enjoyability, I play WoW for the creativity, lore, and laid back nature, if i wanted to punish myself with dozens of one shot mechanics every fight i would go play dark souls or elden ring…its not enjoyable to play a warlock to spend the majority of a fight cancelling casts to run out of mechanics, because god forbid I get once and I’m dead…I don’t mind difficulty, but I personally just feel WoW has completely lost the sauce, we went from don’t stand in the fire while dpsing the boss, to don’t get hit by the 2 dozen nukes the boss throws every 10 seconds while avoiding walking into his rotating circles that instakill on tuesday and spawn minions every other day…like i understand instakill mechanics are important in any game like this…i just fail to understand why there are so many…so often…even elden ring is more forgiving when you get hit
maybe you should stop doing PVE content and start doing RP content. It sounds like game mechanics really upset you and you would be better served putting on some pretty clothes and coming to the city with the rest of us to sit around a campfire and discuss things
WoW is a very large and varied world full of complexity that scales from very easy content to very complex content with a wide variety of content in between. WoW also has a large and varied player base with people who are attracted to all these different types of content.
If we picked one person, like you or like me or like someone who does professions or the captain of an RWF team and said “Just focus on what that one person wants”, most of the player base would leave and that one person wouldn’t have a game to play.
We need to keep all these levels and types of content to keep everyone happy.
For many people, including myself, these go hand in hand.
I mean, i would just prefer if everything doesn’t one shot you simply because you still had a pixel in the ability
Yes, but this is kinda what I’m getting at, I want more diverse content, I’m getting sick of just dodge everything or get one shot, and this is kinda just a constant in games, without variety things get stagnant and boring, we got delves which was neat, but M+ is still completely un-enjoyable if you pug, raids i still wont touch with a 30 ft stick because of toxic they are, I want more diversity in the content, I don’t want things being restricted or watered down for class balance sake…I want more than just random one shot mechanics in content too, we have a bit of diversity combat wise, but its mostly just glowing one shot circles or cones…i want the game to be challenging and enjoyable, not just me running around trying to stay out of the mass amount of circles that are appearing hoping i can weave a spell in
Might be helpful if you describe what “enjoyable” is for you. We know what isn’t enjoyable for you.
You make a lot of broad strokes and are hoping the devs read your mind and implement something that would subjectively fun for you — that’s a huge gamble.
Sounds like you are annoyed with high end content where you want a “laid back” attitude to the encounters.
And be far more specific about “fun” in high end content.
I wanna see more use of things outside of instant kill circles firstly, like i wanna see more innovative boss mechanics and phases, I want my button presses to feel good, and maybe even happen ways to ignore a mechanic hit, especially as a warlock as not to be forced out mid combo because an rgn death circle decided im its target this go round, for mythic plus i would like to see it shift to as well, to more tactical play, instead of trying to herd cats through a dungeon asap
I mean, im certainly annoyed with high end content, but it has less to do with the content and more with the playerbase, TBH, if anything I’m just sick of everything one shotting after a certain point, it not only just makes the game frustrating, but i feel its just bad design in general, especially when its less common in games like elden ring and dark souls where you don’t have to worry about someone else mental booming because they died to it
They’re focusing on balance?

They wouldn’t balance things even if they could. Corporate Blizzard loves to lay off staff to bolster the bottom line in quarterly earnings calls. Any dev who reports that things are running fine is asking for their budget and team size to be cut. The best way to avoid that is to convince the bean counters that there’s essential work that’s desperately needed.
That’s why balance will never be achieved, and classes will periodically need to be drastically redesigned.
Wut?
There is plenty of content in the game where that is the case, more than there isn’t actually.
Since I don’t know what your talking about, I’ll give an appropriately generic response. Sometimes its important for a game to have a loss condition. Many one shots are telegraphed and fairly simple to avoid if you know its coming. These should stay. This is not always true, but generally if something is a one shot its well telegraphed or at least predictable. Not always, but I think a good example of why one shots are acceptable is gallywix where instead of one shots you have dps taking excessive raid damage and moving the punishment to the healers since most mechanics don’t outright kill you in favor of giving you a long dot.
lego island remake when?
Or you can just move out of the way. Doesn’t even look like you play at a level where one shots exist though.
It’s not random. It’s your interrupt. Everyone in the group has their own. It’s how the game throttles the dps. Otherwise folks would just unload in one spot and complain that it’s too easy and everything is just a mountain of hit points to whittle down over time.
Then why not reroll into a melee class? Warriors are doing great. I like the fights to keep me active…
I raised the same eyebrow lol.
The tuning pass they did this week was a joke.
I have been raiding just about every week since I came back in DF and have encountered maybe a handful of toxic people raiding.
I dont understand, you dont do any difficult level of content. I guess its time to git gud ![]()
