I dont get the outcry about no more customization

So you’re okay with Lightfored only having four skin colors and hair colors, while Nightborne don’t look like Nightborne and suffer from the same four color issue. That’s nice. Others aren’t okay with it when they said they’d get to those races and then now said nope.

Fair enough!

Ok? Never even cared enough to be aware of it.

What is armor? Pfft

I can see my necklace and the only things I have hidden are shoulders and cloak.

I’m ok with that; Lightforged have access to the same classes as Humans, and the Alliance players love their humans too much to give them up for space goats.
Same is true about Nightborne and Blood Elves.

Even if we go with this statement (they really talked about Shadowlands and beyond), how they went about this feels wrong.

They also asked for feedback and we fans delivered.

At Blizzcon they said they have no plans for more customization options at all. So… why say you are planing on doing more, if you don’t have any plans? Why hyping it up and giving us false hopes?

Perhaps it might be strange to you. But character customization is to me as important as a nice mog. It’s part of the RPG and I really like to customize my characters.
In fact the customization options were the only thing, yes the only thing, that kept my interest in Shadowlands at all.

The main problem here is Blizzard going back on their word and their terrible communication.
We didn’t even expect everything or something major right now. I did expect some news and updates though.

try be a nightborne with little to no customization and other races get new stuff meanwhile you getting ignored for your requests for years

And now you are and understand the outrage. Congratulations.

Most players are going to pick the cute little pop idol over the tall rehab elf no matter how many options you give to the latter.

So basically everyone saying Shadowlands would get more customization is and has always been wrong, and their are outraged at being let down by their own false understanding of the quote. Got it.

What Ion said was “But that’s an effort that’s gonna continue after Shadowlands is out the door.”

Technically the next expansion “World of Warcraft: Corgis Unleashed” is after Shadowlands “is out the door”, but that’s now the most intuitive way of interpreting that sentence.

If they really had meant that the next batch of customization would only come after Shadowlands, they wouldn’t say “after Shadowlands is out the door”, but simply "after Shadowlands. The “is out the door” bit at the end implies the inclusion of the period between Shadowlands launch and “after Shadowlands”.

Now you can say “but technically what they said is theoretically correct, the future beyond Shadowlands does happen after Shadowlands launch”, but the thing is: That’s not what the general public got from that statement, and it led to LOTS of feedback on what to do next under the express assumption that we would get more stuff in Shadowlands.

Which means they had ample opportunity to clarify. Had they clarified as soon as the whole thing started, the disappointment effect wouldn’t have been this intense.

Not at all. No. I guess Shadowlands wasn’t clear enough for you. In fact is was a major selling point of the addon. Some people only came back because of it.
But what ever makes you happy, you don’t care either way.

Look I can only explain it like this to you: Good gear looks only cool on a cool character.

There are games whose rewards are only cosmetics , Overwatch , COD, GW2, Apex e.t.c. Dwarfing Blizzard wow revenue like by crazy

Cash shops sell cosmetics because it is in demand. You not liking it is fine , you will be replaced by 10 other players who do not mind it . lmao

reminds to yourselves that wow is an mmoRPG

search the term

customization is big part of it and not everyone have a transmog that covers all the details

its sad that small indie companies understand people more and deliver 10000 times better customization than a multi billion company like blizzard

Who are most players? Raiders and people who push keys? Just because they’re the majority here doesn’t mean they’re the majority in-game.

Don’t know why someone would be happy more customization isn’t being added, but u do u.

It’s another lie told by the company. Maybe you don’t care about being lied to but I do especially by a company that I pay monthly for a service. I would formally protest it with my phone company, a service I am much more dependent on, why would I ignore it coming from a service provider of something I don’t even need.

That’s too bad. Players have come up with a lot of amazing combos that not only fit beautifully together but also with their transmog. You might want to stop and do some people watching in the cities some time to see the impact.

I am willing to take that bet.

Anyone who is building a character and wants to express who that character is visually appreciates cosmetics.

That was your experience. Kindly remember your experience is not everyone’s.

Nothing in your post presents any evidence that customizations are ‘something that literally doesn’t matter for most players’ so this question is biased and deceptive.

Try again.
