“If WoW didn’t require player interaction, we wouldn’t constantly have this crying from solo players that group content is required.”
All those solo players are wrong, thus your premise is also wrong. Can I be more clear than that? I mean, SERIOUSLY, why are you premising your argument on other people’s nonsense claims?
I don’t even know what a 4th Spark of Ingenuity is, or how you get one, or why I’d want one. Please, do explain, & I’m almost dead certain that when you’re done I’m going to point out that a dedicated casual solo scrub like me has no need of such a thing, therefore why do I care?
I mean, SERIOUSLY, I’ve mentioned this concept – that whether or not player interaction is required depends ENTIRELY on the results you want – more than once to you. What part of it are you not getting? Feel free to be specific.
My brother in Christ, it’s called a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER game. Massive: a huge amount. Multiplayer: a game where you play with other people. The social interaction and grouping is the core concept of the game. Don’t expect to change anytime soon.
Welcome to modern gaming mindset. It’s not so much how the game is designed as it is how people approach games. People always want the fastest, most efficient way to do everything. It’s happening in every game community, not just WoW.
Really? I solo’d this character to 60, I’ll solo her to 70, & I’ll be content with the gear I have. That’s because I know my limitations, I know what my priorities are, & group content goes against both of those things.
Tell me again how I “get nowhere” without a group. Please. Say it again. You might even hear my contemptuous scoffing laughter all the way from Indianapolis to where ever you live. Quite frankly, Raiimir, you’re too smart to swallow that nonsense, much less spit it up to me.
Solo WoW players who claim you can’t anywhere without a group are whining about nothing. They’re whining because they can’t get dungeon rewards without a group. My response is No Duh. Group up if you want those rewards, or don’t; your choice. But quit whining to Blizz to change this game for you. Learn to play, get over yourself, stop whining about the group, & get your gear.
I didnt say that other MMOs dont have open world gearing. I specifically talked about end game/best in slot gearing.
Sounds like you really really really like the less popular GW2 game.
You can get a ton of that in WoW open world right now.
Congrats. You won the discussion! You got what you wanted!
Back to your ol “if you disagree with me I am going to insult you” strat. This is why your points wont get taken seriously. You cant have an honest conversation.
I disagree.
And you keep white knighting GW2 while insulting anyone that disagrees with you on WoW.
I havent attacked anyone.
You have been actively seeking out and causing confrontation.
You arent able to communicate without attacking someone else that disagrees with you.
You dont have to do any of that. I dont.
But that couldnt happen without dungeons/raids, making it a mixed pillar.
Counter point. Pillars is a made up word to describe any end game activity. Its physically impossible to have end game not based around pillars, because if you give me any end game activity, I will call it a pillar.
You “solo players” in this forum need no help hurting yourself. You are doing an amazing job on your own.
You are now deliberately missing the point: I don’t care if whether or not I “get somewhere” matches your definition of “get somewhere.” I got where I care about being, at least for right now – what YOU think, whether it matches what YOU want is entirely irrelevant to me.
I mean I’ve made this point REPEATEDLY, but I dunno, maybe I’m not using a bright enough shade of Crayons for you to get it?
If this were a single-player RPG I’d be … um … solo playing it, & wouldn’t have any trouble with that, either. That response is so far out of the bounds of reality that I now think you’re trolling me for no good reason.
Stop it. You’re wrong, & your deliberate wrong-ness is bordering on offensive. Raiimir, seriously: you’re not this stupid, so quit pretending you are. Queue the contemptuous scoffing laughter.
OK. Never mind. I’ve made the point until I’m now about to turn blue, but Raiimir – Special Little Raiimir – refuses to get it. He’s either not as smart as I want to think, or else he’s a troll, or maybe even both.
petition to make a “Special Little” title for Raiimir. Not because I agree with your aggressiveness, but just because Special Little Raiimir has a good ring to it for a Death Knight
Or maybe you just don’t understand the breadth of content you’re missing out on and thinking you made a point because you did Loremaster and got the most basic blues from WQs.
Let’s put it this way : If WoW was only its solo content right now, I would just go play a much better RPG. Because WoW’s solo game is atrociously limited and boring.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is a much better game than Solo WoW.
It means you need help to do anything truly meaningful. That’s the point of the genre. A COD game isn’t an mmorpg. It was never meant to be a bunch of solo people doing whatever. You can mine, farm etc, but build a castle? Defeat a dragon? You need allies. This would make more sense if we got back to just being random adventurers instead of CHAMPIONS.
The other point you miss is that it has to be a persistent world.
I’d say that’s debatable. I mean, there’s a few things you can do alone in WoW. Old content farms, WQ’s, questing, etc. I think a healthy MMO has a balance of Multiplayer and Single Player content, because sometimes you want a break from the multiplayer aspect of things.
