"I didn't get my loot. Bye!" Waiting ensues

Here’s the scenario: I join a group for a random dungeon. The group is made up of a druid tank, monk healer, two rogues and myself. The dungeon is Theatre of Pain.

As the first boss dies, the druid and both rogues drop group immediately after looting, as the item they wanted either did or didn’t drop.
Okay, that’s their decision. But that leaves the rest of us tankless and waiting for a replacement.

I propose that loot only stays in your bags if you kill the final boss. This will stop the kind of behaviour where players come in only for a particular boss, get (or not) what they want then leave the rest of the group to wait due to their selfish act.
Those that don’t get what they want and leave the group should get a similar penalty as those do when leaving a battleground.

This really hurts players in normal dungeons where the bulk of the player base is doing heroics or higher.
I type this while currently waiting more than 15 minutes for replacements.

They got what they wanted and left.

The legendary stuff should be on the last boss.

It’s also possible that they just didn’t want to do that dungeon; after you kill the first boss, you don’t get a dungeon deserter penalty for leaving.

Or they could simply increase loot drop chance, or make sure every boss drops a bit of currency to where players can purchase the pieces they want from a vendor.

Problem is there’s no final boss drop for an incentive to stay like say a crafting reagent that is bind on pickup, bonus AP, or extra loot like in the past.

Adding more loot would resolve this problem

I can attest this stupidity is still happening. It was rampant at expac launch but I guess now people are bringing in their alts and repeating the same thing. This is why pure dps classes are dead. At least when I’m on my tanks I can keep going knowing that some dps player will eventually be plopped in. Half the time I don’t even need a healer. But when this happens on my pure dps toon? GG back to the queue you go. It’s got to the point where I only stable one pure dps class and the rest are tanks as I won’t even bother looking at another class unless it has a tank spec.

This and the legendary stuff should be 100% drop rate. So you experience a dungeon and then you can help the runecarver remember what it was like.

Unless you are a DH then 0% drop rate!

Jesus Christ it’s honestly astounding how they haven’t changed it to drop from the last boss. What the hell? They STILL haven’t changed it? WHY?

Druid tank in SoA, is a no go, about 99% they will drop after the first boss

Yea they really should have put the drops on the last boss. It’s truly crappy behavior. People never cease to amaze me with the stuff they do.

They should have made all the dungeons drop all loot drops from the run at the very end in a chest the same way as it is in a mythic dungeon. It can’t be that difficult to implement a change like this for all dungeons.

Theater of pain is pretty much impossible to do on alt on heroic.

Right! It is such a simple solution and fair to everyone.

Yeah, maybe next patch, they will place all the loot in a chest after you kill the final boss. Wiggles toes

Just gotta deal with it.

Unfortunately, everyone’s a victim of this atrocious legendary acquisition system. But nobody has any real obligation to stay if they didn’t get the loot they wanted.

I don’t like the idea that they would lose the loot for not sticking around. This could hurt people who actually get disconnected and can’t reconnect for what ever reason and get vote kicked because of it. I think the badge system needs to make a return, and the gear can be purchased for a certain amount of badges. The level of content would rewards 1 to 5 badges appropriate for the content. Normal/Herioc/Mythic, as well as LFR/Normal/Herioc/Mythic.

You there , yeah de noob.

Have thou seen my loot??

No??? then thy shall bid you adios

They announced that they were increasing the drop rate for heroic dungeons and greatly increasing it for mythics. That suggests that people who would normally do normal dungeons are still locked into doing 100’s until they get that rare drop. Way to go, devs.

Why would you do a N when you can easily do a H instead and increase the chances?

As far as giving loot only if you kill the last boss, that could be abused by players with the vote-kick system. Also, what happens if something comes up (the casual argument) and a player has to leave early? They just get nothing for their time? Yes players would love that change…

Might as well most of the time you finish the dungeon and still get nothing for your time except gold and anima.
