That’s true. Maybe they should consider doing that for WoW.

There is an easy solution for you, take the free transfer to a normal server. If you’re upset about dying to this extent then HC probably isn’t for you, and you will have lost nothing.

solution: transfer toon to Normal realm and keep playing the toon.

Better solution: Invest in better server infrastructure.

O Be quit Kynsa. If you had a level 60 in awesome gear that you grinded hours for and died because of Blizzards servers going offline you will be enraged! I am not just talking to you Kynsa but everyone else on this thread who thinks its ok to lose your character due to a disconnect on blizzards end. level 26 yes not that big of a problem but still a month down the drain.

No I read the disclaimer when I created my character. Does it suck dying, sure, but if you can’t handle dying for any reason, HC simply isn’t for you, and there is nothing wrong with that. Eventually everyone dies, most often it’s doing something dumb, or simply getting unlucky, it is what it is, and I have lost a number of higher level characters. Ultimately there is nothing fair about HC, and it’s not supposed to be.

There is a reason most people dislike HC, its simply not a game mode that most people will enjoy in the long run as they grow attached to their characters, and many like the original poster feel when they die that they somehow lose something, they haven’t though. HC is and always should be about the journey, sometimes its a longer journey, sometimes its relatively short, but ultimately all journeys in HC should end, pushing people to restart from the beginning.

Ultimately Blizzard decided to give everyone an out, so even in death you don’t really lose anything unless you choose not to transfer, but that option is always available.

I dont understand what hardcore players expect blizzard to do in this situation. It’s impossible to revive every character that died and they won’t do a rollback

It’s not about whether it’s ok or not, it’s just about accepting reality where you understand that it’s an online hosted game where death is permanent. I have a pretty low opinion of Blizzard these days and even I don’t expect them to police deaths and appeal ones most would consider to be unfair.

You die you die. The end.

I simply understand I am playing a 20 year old game over the internet. I also know and understand what permanent death is, and understand what that really means, to many people go into HC not really grasping this. I also realize that there is nothing feasible that Blizzard can do, the servers are what they are, and no their wont be any real changes to them. As for appeals they would never work not only cost wise, but because they would destroy what HC is and simply turn it into appeal-core, and then really why not just be on a normal server.

The thing about HC is it’s not really hard in the traditional sense where the game is easier or harder, what makes hardcore hard is accepting you will die and being ok with that even when that death is extremely unfair. Ultimately if you want some sort of safety net, then HC WOW will never be the game for you, and instead you should pick a game mode that more fitting to what you will enjoy.

I agree I think the gov should refund us all $200 USD so we can buy fortnite skins and other epic gamer loot boxes.

the problem with this is its a double edged sword. it would save people yes but it would also be abused.

the market is tanking guys please heal the market by making home made powderade and providing it to the workers on wall street – give them the energy they need to win this trade war so Dabei can play WoW again! :kissing_heart:

A portion of the disclaimer every player has to accept to roll on Hardcore realms:

“By agreeing to play on these realms, you accept that your character’s death is permanent for whatever the reason. This includes disconnections, lag, server outages, gameplay bugs or any other reason.”

Well, travel isn’t such a big component to the core game experience in Diablo as it is in WoW. There are endless amount of ways such a feature could be exploited to completely trivialize the hardcore experience in WoW. Dying to dc sucks, believe me our guild lost 6 lvl 60s… but that’s the game.

A lot of people bring up the contract when you make your character you agree to lose the character on death no matter the cause. And I’ve read the arguments against roll backs.

So if they made a new HC server and they put in the contract when you make your character you agree to rollbacks due to server instability, I wonder how many people dead or alive would be in agreement with that?

Who is actually against rollbacks because of loot when we only have one raid out??
