You clearly haven’t done it as a guardian druid. It’s not even a tank challenge. It’s a boomkin challenge with a side of bear form.
Can we stop exagerating the minimal weaving of Moonkin in P1 ?
You spend the majority of the encounter in Bear form and only switch when there’s no adds up on a caster boss. Like you would in a normal tank situation where a boss is just doing a mass channel or casting randomnly or your co-tank is tanking.
Absolutely not.
Lol! No tank in any other situation is using boomkin to dps. You have, absolutely, no idea hat you’re talking about.
I wonder if Blizzard devs actually play tested and completed the towers back when it was current, it wouldn’t be so oddly received. And now with time walking, same deal, I’d love to see why they always work so slow on things yet I hear Square Enix’s devs play test their encounters, and don’t even have a PTR.
Is their work ethic just not good
That’s entirely false.
I have my Fel werebear. Imagine that.
I hope that they decide to keep Mage Tower up till 9.2.
Ive done at least 1 mage tower on every class this go around and I also did all 36 specs back in Legion and I have a few things to say about this.
Firstly, there are some that are extremely easy compared to others this go around, yea there was some of this in Legion but they were much closer in balance. The best example I can think of is Fire mage vs Havoc DH. I one shot the Fire Mage one this go around, I made a lot of mistakes but it died very quickly. I think it took me little over 2 combusts so about 2.5min compared to almost 9 min on Feral Druid and 7 min on Fury warrior.
On Havoc DH each attempt took me roughly 14 min and I would get to about 10% hp on the last phase before I would run out of room. Those 9 min going up to last phase werent easy either, you miss an interrupt or a stun and you would just rot out, and forget it if you arent quick enough on the fel rushes during mirror phases.
As for this specific challenge, BM hunter was the easiest of all the Tugar classes that I did this go around and actually quite fun. Took me about 8 pulls, mostly just trying to figure out how to play this version of BM, I was used to the focus gen version of barbed shot and played it very improperly.
Finally Id like to point out that the balance this go around is closer to its initial release with ToS. Most people got their challenges done during Antorus where they had a lot more gear, tier sets choices, and legendaries. My last challenge I did in Legion was sub rogue, and that was during Antorus. I really think it would have taken me 2 or 3 times as many pulls to complete had it been earlier with less gear (granted it was only raid finder Antorus gear but still).
Also mages in particular had it very easy this go around. I one shot fire mage, 2 shot Frost Mage, and it took me about 5 actual pulls for arcane (10 resets for cheese strat) because there exists a cheese strat with Touch of the Magi and Arcane Missiles where I can 100-0 the bosses within 2 Arcane Power windows, so within roughly 2.5min of the fight.
Mages simply function vastly differently than they did during Legion. In general they are less reliant on Cooldowns than they were in Legion so the portions between cooldowns, ie killing adds on Agatha is much easier.
I think Blizzard should have done at least 1 run through of each challenge to at least a feel for hp/dps numbers with the classes without their borrowed power/scaling. Its pretty clear they didnt.
Well it doesnt matter to almost all of wow population seeing its 3% winrate so if its there or not for any amount of time But good luck to you .
This event is the hardest solo content they have ever put into the game. The point is for it to be difficult, they definitely should NOT nerf them.
The items are recolors yes, of some of the most beloved tier set designs ever. It isnt the same and some are colors that people have wanted since the beginning, like the red version of the Warlock set.
Also you get a unique mount with a unique animation for doing all the unique challenges, and you get a werebear skin which if you dont understand how big that is let me explain: You cannot get any of the other werebear skins anymore. So this one is available to everyone who wants at least 1 werebear skin. The rewards from this are insane, and should be difficult to obtain, is the balance a bit off and some people will have it harder than others? Yes, but that doesnt mean you should trivialize content cause “I pay my sub so I deserve this!” Yea we all pay our sub and a lot of us want challenging content in the game. If that is a problem for you then go do the plethora of easier content in the game. I mean is it not enough that all the mythic tier sets of the past are now soloable, when it took significant effort to obtain when it was content? That effort barely matters now outside of the fun you had at the time, and the CE achievement if you were able to get it before it was gone.
Ok there, elitist!!! No need to get your panties in a bunch. I just simply said that artifact weapons should be (didn’t save HAVE TO BE) brought back and reactivated because that’s how many players defeated it the first time (and before concordance was even a thing). So chill, bruh.
I’m glad it’s for Guardian Druids… but how about the other tanks? Bear tanks aren’t the only ones in the game.
It’s all just numbers. If they brought back the artifact and reactivated the passives, they’d just buff up health and damage numbers to compensate. A lot of those passives also wouldn’t work as we don’t all have the abilities they buff anymore.
Seriously, the fact you don’t have your artifact is not why this is hard or not.
Yeah, I’m a returning casual player and I haven’t put in the time to gain experience to clear this content. That’s my fault of course~ It’s terribly difficult and I can’t muster the energy to go another 25x to solidify a strategy. I’d rather they keep it as difficult as it is and let the people who put time in to clear it revel in their rewards. The best of us deserve the prize in my opinion. Congratulation on your achievement!
I’m guessing there has been big employee turnover since Legion. Ion started his current job of game director at the start of Legion. No doubt he has been instrumental in hiring people who think like him since then.
It’s a bizarre series of events. Yes, it would have been oddly received.
At the moment they seem to be caught up in so many perfect storms that their workplace is incapable of getting back on track to turn out content.
I think they have prioritized being at war with the playerbase over getting back to work.
If a set of devs play tested, completed it… I don’t agree it’d be as oddly received.
Which is why I said back then when it was current, a lot of the same things carried over. Having said that, they should of tried it now themselves in it’s TW scaling.
I’m not speaking of SL slowness, they just are always slow. It’s a meme now amongst people when Blizzard is brought up in a conversation.
