Just nerf the tower. It’s only available for two weeks and gives a recolor of an old mog. It should be completed at a relatively easy level.
The tank ones especially seems nearly impossible. I have a few socketed pieces and did all the tank challenges in Legion. I am only able to do about 5% of Inquisitor’s health before I get too many stacks and have to leap out. By the time I get to Kaal, there are like 14 infernals up. I can’t even see the adds that spawn, but even if I could, they take too long to deal with when paired with all the infernals and Kaal himself. Inquisitor needs a huge health nerf if you want to make this challenge on par with how it was in Legion.
please don’t do this
Four years from now we will get a timewalking twisting corridors. And blizzard will not have learned a single lesson. Because they never do.
Bad news. They are planning on nerfing certain challenges that they feel are indeed overtuned / buggy.
Yes absolutely do this. It should be accessible by EVERY player, regardless of skill level, because it is a limited-time event for old content. If you want to show off prestige by your skill level, then just hit R1 or clear mythic in current content.
Just nerf it to the ground and let us use the current borrowed powers
People already are trivializing the challenge by using old items that scale weird inside the tower
The frost mage is super hard, have to pay attention to so many things and rngs plays a big role. I wiped at 5% my best attempt. I do not have the bigwigs timers, that sould make it easier. I should have not passed on my 239 occulus trinket a few months ago.
That’s an “everyone should get a trophy” mindset. Some people aren’t good enough YET to complete the challenges. There’s value in putting in the time and research to get the challenge done. If limited time is what makes you think that everyone should do it, then you should be pushing for them to lift the time restriction not nerf the challenges.
But is not about the skill to do it, is about who has enough gold to buy old set pieces with a lot of gems slots
This, exactly this.
Not to mention “play meta only with all buffs like your a tier raider, and you must frame perfect everything, AND you have to pray to RNGesus he decides not to bend you over Lil Nicky style”
There are people who have put in the effort (even going so far as getting an actual timewalking set) and finding out some of the challenges are completely broken. The healing one is the big one. Along with the worm challenge for disc priest at least.
Are their opinions invalid as well?
One common feature I am seeing is boss health is really overtuned. I didn’t even know sigryn had an enrage timer until time walking mage tower came out because the damage check wasn’t the thing in that fight. The final phase of the healing challenge can actually soft enrage even with good circle placement since the dps from the party isn’t enough to kill the boss before the room is covered in fel without player imput. Final phase of Xylem from what I’ve seen requires perfect play and drums to achieve a kill after 4 sets of adds, sometimes with a fifth set inbound, while I recall in legion 2-3 sets was the expected kill time. Sustained damage is also a bit of a problem on some fights since in legion we were much tanker in general if only because prydaz existed.
I just had a fight with my husband because him and my brother in law are progressing quicker than me with their fights with fewer tries. It gets toxic really quickly when it’s so hard
I just watched Supatease’s video of him beating the challenge and he actually said it took him 90 pulls, 11 hours of pulls, and he died at the end and the NPCs finished the boss for him.
He also said he doesn’t know a single person who completed Kruul who DIDN’T die right at the end and the NPCs finished Kruul off.
If the best players out there are dying and it’s coming down to basically perfect pulls and 1 or 2 seconds of pure luck at the end then everything in that fight has too much health and the infernals probably do way too much damage.
Basically just cut the health of everything down and nerf the infernal damage because if there are 3 of them you are seriously hurting and if there are 4 or 5 you are basically dead as soon as kruul does any annihilate even if it’s the first one.
I managed to defeat kruul without dying at the very end. But I’m guessing Supatease did not do it on a warrior though.
Although it did feel that I was correct in getting a timewalking set for the challenge. And the challenges should not be scaled with that in mind.
I do want them to lift the time restrictions, but it is far more likely they’re going to keep it in spirit of the event of Legion timewalking then to keep it permanently. In this sense, it SHOULD be a participation reward. It’s a recolor of an old mog, not a unique appearance or mount.
The fact you have to spend THOUSANDS of gold, just to scale correctly because of spaghetti code, is inherently broken and punishes the casual playerbase (who is the backbone of the game, btw)
Wtf, only took me like 2 hours and the last time I played guardian druid was original mage tower 4 years ago.
Or maybe this is their plan to sell more tokens, so people can buy the old gear, gems, consumables, etc
Just put the book mount in the store then
I just checked your profile, you don’t even have the achievement.
Good thing i’m literally wearing one of the sets right now.
