You…you die in 20s? If you kill the game in combat, yea, you’ll probably come back dead. But if you’re not in combat, then you should be able to log out cleanly.
There’s a reason they don’t do what you want them to do. Being able to “instantly” become invulnerable is just a huge gateway for abuse at all levels. From cheesing content to PvP griefing, etc. That’s why you can’t log out or quit “in combat”. That’s why you have the 20s delay in the world vs rest areas. All of these are not there to inconvenience anyone. They’re there because it lets you “safely” exit the game in a way that doesn’t impact gameplay for others.
Lessons about things like this have been learned after bitter experience over the years. It’s the nature of playing in a open world like environment like WoW.
This is the future. Mark my words. Revisit this thread in a decade, and you will see.
Being social is a dying trait in humanity, and the draw of online games will shift from group play to parallel play. These QoL changes will become more and more necessary as Zoomers age and have children of their own. The days of having fun online with your friends are in the past. The only people trying to hold on to such ideas are old now, and with each passing year, their relevancy diminishes. Blizzard wants to prepare for the future - every game company does.
Like it or not, this is the direction the industry is moving in, and fighting against it is pointless.
It’s like trying to keep furry races out of the game. That was never going to happen. It was inevitable because furry races are popular, and increasingly popular with younger demographics than they were with older.
The wisdom of youth is “do not kill the part of you that is cringe, kill the part that cringes.”
This change will be helpful to new and existing players, and railing against it is pointless.
Given enough time, it will be implemented without fanfare, and hardly anyone will even mention it because it has no downside.
But, by all means, continue to jump on the bandwagon and spout the sort of ignorance that only proves you didn’t read my idea to begin with, or if you did, you failed to comprehend it.
If you cook while playing WoW, you’re likely to ruin your food by not giving it the attention it deserves or get killed in WoW because you need to get up to handle something that’s cooking.
Not telling you how to live, I’m giving advice. If you don’t take that advice, well, the consequences are ruined meals and/or dying in WoW.
Well this is just terrifying. Really hope you don’t live in a townhouse complex or apartment.
Point is that ANYTHING that is an “emergency” really should be prioritized over a video game. If it doesn’t take priority, then clearly it was not important enough.
