I have a mental problem and am a huge hypocrite <3
Seeing them in Dornogal day in and day out wears you down… I get it…
just remember that this decision is telling blizzard this was ok, when they sell a flying brutasaur for 200 next month.
One of us! One of us!
Bit late for that, considering the original brutosaur was ~2-5 times more expensive and sold out just fine, no?
Nah. You can hate the business practice but still accept the obvious convenience of it.
the assertion gold = money is a false equivalency blizzard sold us so people would spend money on gold.
game was better off, in every way, when rmt was outright banned, and those who engaged in it lost their accounts. it was against the spirit of the game then… and it remains so today.
Is it a cash grab, sure it is. I don’t fault businesses for trying to do business thing and make money. We can debate if it should be a thing or not as some people do, but personally it doesn’t bother me. That ship sailed the moment they put the old longboy in back when tokens were going for 500 gold a pop and it took $500 worth of them to get said longboy mount. Personally I think it’s foolish that people are whining about the current one but not the previous one.
The current one is $90 direct cash, or via 6 tokens. Gold wise it’s far cheaper than the previous one and you get better functionality. If folks were going to complain that ship has sailed and should’ve happened with the previous longboy. Personally it doesn’t bother me because it doesn’t magically make me better at the game or give me any kind of power advantage. Just gives me convenience.
If enough folks would practice a little self control and not buy something they believe to be a cash grab, junk like this would stop overnight. I’ll probably pick it up before everything is said and done myself. Just haven’t yet.
It has an AH and a mailbox.
I can be anywhere and everywhere all at once.
I’m sure you’ll never regret your decision to abandon your morals and take up a life of lies and fallacy.
Well then it’s a little bit late for that discussion as well. The original Brutosaur was either 5 million gold or $400 - $1000 (depending on the token rate). Current Brutosaur is either $90 or 1 - 2 million gold (depending on the token rate). I don’t see why all the fake rage over the current Brutosaur, bur not over the previous one.
This is it right here. MTX, well they’re becoming macrotransactions now a days, are only so prevalent in gaming overall because they make SO MUCH easy money. The masses open their wallets without a second thought. That’s why they continue doing this.
I purchased it by converting gold to bnet balance. I don’t swipe the cc for anything WoW-related anymore. I let other people do that.
it isnt fake, and it isnt rage. its genuine annoyance. double standards, such as blizzard turning around and doing the exact same thing they used to ban people for is pure hypocrisy. it shows they have no integrity, and neither does the game as a result. and as someone returning after not playing since [wotlk], it has been quite shocking seeing what has happened to this game. and the now non existent community.
as an aside, im not judging people who opt to buy it. i promised myself i would never give blizzard another dime after the blitzchung thing. and diablo 3’s auction house. yet here i am.
The mount is very convenient. If you can afford it, don’t be harsh on yourself and enjoy it.
It’s a regular mount. I paid for my oldest brother’s birthday present, a traditional Chinese jacket, far more than this.
Just don’t stand over a mail box, while your sitting on a mount with a mail box.
I wouldn’t say it’s about integrity. They banned numerous accounts for buying gold, but no matter how many they banned, people kept buying.
They offered a safe and legit way so people don’t get scammed. Do they make a cut, sure, but a lot of people were getting their accounts hijacked and cc info stolen as well.
No one is forcing people to buy gold, same as before. There is a safer option to do so that eliminates the possibility of getting scammed though.
There’s like 30 auction houses in WoW. There’s no shortage of auction houses.
It’s a status symbol, it isn’t super valuable for like 99% of the playerbase. It doesn’t add any easement or function that doesn’t already exist.
I didn’t buy it because I don’t mind spending an extra 0 seconds flying to the auction house.
In a few years from now the next big mount will be bank access/mail/auctionhouse, and everyone will need to have that as well… when they’re literally right next to each other in game free of charge.
