No, its a failure. Some people like it but healers are mini bosses and a single hunter can turn the tide of node even if they’re out numbered becuase of viper sting was not tuned and is OP now. Mages run OOM and have horrible damage to mana ratio, etc. The problem was not core classic damage but the damage from all the rune abilities and their modifiers.

Seems it really depends on your class. Some people just got massive buffs and some people got massive nerfs.

Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why some people love it and some people hate it.

To be fair, healers had no place in bgs at all before this change. They just couldn’t participate.

I thought I would hate any sort of damage reduction aura after phase 1, but shockingly even 50% is not that bad now that everyone has most of their toolkits, more runes, etc. You can tell it’s a little excessive based on trying to take AB nodes and kill flag carriers, but I hope after this test they keep something in the 25-35% range in effect.

Keep the 50% damage reduction, nake it also apply to mana burn effects, and all abilities that deal damage will refund 50% of the mana cost if it was subject to the damage reduction.

Healing spells do not get this mana refund.

Next healing abilities that can heal other people are subject to 50% reduced healing when casted on yourself.

This keeps healers from becoming gods but still pump out ridiculous healing on others. In other words, “kill the healers” has more value as they auto heal themselves for less.

I LOVE the changes. the 2 shot meta was horrible and i hated it…even though i could melt people PvP was boring.

As a mm hunter i can still easily solo kill healers. just need a couple crits to line up. much more like how it was in classic dps vs healer fights. it also gives warrior value in group pvp again.

P.S they should maybe try removing the hp bonus from bgs and bloodmoon if its still giving it, and see how everything plays out.

I think the damage could be shifted a bit, from 50% to 40% but overall I think the change is a good thing. However, slow two hand meta for Warriors/Ret pallies feel dead in the water. Which means they need to buff slow handed play styles. Otherwise its fine.

The main people disliking the change are just those that can’t cast two spells or toss two dots to get kills anymore. Now people will actually have to play their class.

Classic has always been bursty. If these tickle fights stay in SOD is dead.

Comparing 2 shot SOD to classic “burst” is hilarious. They weren’t even in the same universe.

Yeah, in SoD we actually have trinkets and defensives to deal with being 1 shot unlike in classic.

LOL…you’re clueless. The changes are fantastic. The only people who cry about it are just bad at actual PvP.

You admitted on multiple occasions your main is a lvl 40. Imagine spending 5+ hours on forums everyday for something you have no idea about. Grey parsing cringer lol.
