I can't wait to get back to the RPG roots

I’ve been watching Hirumaredx on youtube and every time I watch his videos I say something like “holy s***, that’s right. My Night Elf priest used to have star shards!” or “Oh yeah, certain mobs were immune to things like poison or arcane/fire damage”

Every video I watch gets me more pumped for that old school table top RPG aspect Classic WoW used to have. Having to stockpile light feathers, candles, ankhs and what not. Ammo and poisons. Hell even just having crafting professions actually mean something again where I have to remember where to farm those Breath of Winds.

Classic can not come soon enough.

Vanilla does seem more realistic compared to present wow.

And you can hold keys! And more enchants!

I’ve been waiting for professions to have meaning again. It won’t be nearly as robust as it was in WotLK with all the armor enhancements, but at least all the professions will be useful again.

What we have now is just a joke, idk how the devs can look at crafting now and think they did a good job, I would be ashamed if it was me.

Yeah you can get a lot of neat stuff from professions. A dragonkin pet trinket from engineering is a good one.

completely agree. i miss being able to craft myself gear without huge penalties but also something that i can use. no, the crafted gear will never be as good as raid gear but from the pve aspect- its a huge difference.

you were rewarded for the work you put in, even if small compared to higher end content. unlike now in current retail- the punishments are insane.
they are trying to completely remove dependence on professions but also their usefulness as a whole. they are better off just removing professions from the game entirely at this point.

mumbles something about how much BFA sucks

I miss resist gear. It felt good to work together as a guild to suit everybody up and go beat a boss you couldn’t do otherwise.

I <3 this thread.

Loving Classic for the same reasons as stated here. Miss having real professions. Miss having to check my bags before setting out in the world because you actually needed stuff to survive day to day.

It will be a fun game.

I miss a lot of those Class quests. Druid form quests, Whirlwind Axe quest, Rhok’Delar, etc.

Yes! Even in BC I remember crafting “Shoulders of Lightning Reflexes” and them really meaning something for my character! It is one of the many aspects I am looking forward to!

I’m logged into retail and have been sitting in Boralus for the last 2 hours or so, but instead of playing I’ve been watching this guy on youtube eat 33 year old MREs. That is how god damned bored I am with retail.

Do you watch SteveMRE1989?? I love his videos!

Also, to thread, yes. So psyched to play a proper RPG again. Actually talk to people. Craft useful gear while it is actually relevant still. Everyone on ground. LFG in chat. Fk. Give now!

Alright, so let’s get this out on to a tray

Edit: Since I’ve posted my last statement I’ve watched that man “eat” a MRE from 1899. Guys stomach must be made from steel

I’ve seen every single one of his MRE reviews. Not ashamed! lol It’s funny to see his earlier videos and watch over time as he slowly starts incorporating different catchphrases and editing quirks into his reviews.

P.s.- Nice hiss!

This is just a good, wholesome coffee :joy:
+1 for Steve.

Also +1 for bring on classic. Feeding pets, taming rares…and friggin CC!! CC, teamwork, and a complete lack of gogogogogogomustfinisheverythingasfastaspossiblesoicandoit20moretimesatevenfasterspeeds!!!

With enough “convenience”, the game is no longer a game but a meaningless chore.

One of the saddest things in the modern game is when I decided to level an alt and actually keep up on professions. I went Herbalism/Alchemy since I thought maybe consumables might at least keep up okay.

They’ve been so heavily nerfed that they’re practically worthless. You’re lucky if a healing potion can heal you for more than 5-10% of your HP, and early on I was getting things like potions that gave +1 armour.

The closest I have seen to those epic class quests was the Mage Tower in Legion.

WHY doesn’t Blizz do more stuff like that, and why did they get away from it at al???

I remember when I first started on my rogue, I did my poison quest and couldn’t figure out why my stealth never worked, all the enemies would see me through it.

Those weren’t even really class quests. More like role quests. I’d get the same one on my Paladin as Holy that I did on my Shaman, Priest, Druid, or Monk while healing.

If I remember right, they went away from it because they didn’t really like making content that not everybody would have a chance at seeing.

Even the opening class hall quests where you went to get your artifact weapon saw a ton of re-using of the same questlines.
