I am a Classic player, but the DF buzz seems positive, and so part of me is tempted to try it. But then I log onto retail and see that Stormwind no longer looks like the medieval fortress city I know and love. Instead it looks like a bad trip of freakish mounts, and often you can look at them and say “that guy bought a 6 month subscription in 2020, that guy bought a store mount in 2021” etc.
The mounts totally ruin immersion for me, and I think it was a big mistake for Blizzard to start this arms race of ever more ridiculous mounts.
Yeah same here. Hard to get used to a lot of things like that coming from vanilla and classic. People never really talk. Everyone you see running around in town is from another server, so you never meet new guilds in the world. Basically ghosts of players, that you can’t even trade with, to try and make the world look alive again. Not to mention all the added NPCs with “guild tags” to also deceive you into thinking the world is full of players. It’s just these insane cheesy looking Disney mounts everywhere.
This is true in classic so idk wtf you’re talking about. I can sit in SW and look at a parade of freakish mounts and say “That guy bought a boost, that guy over there bought a boost as well.”.
So killing a 100 foot dragon, killing a guy who has demonic wings and has taken down tons of demons himself, killing a guy who can ressurect the dead on command, killing old GODS, killing loas, all of this and more and the thing that ruins immersion is a guy riding a pony that can fly?
You mean like the neon purple/green lizard they gave classic for the BC launch? Or the new classic dragon for Wrath with the 1 year sub? Don’t worry dear, unless you are playing perma vanilla classic the retail mounts are coming to you soon!
