I can't get queen loot in vault unless I defeated her correct?

I know in the past in order to get last past loot in vault I had to defeat it first. That is still the case here correct? Any one have any idea about that?

There’s several reddit posts on this topic if you use google to find them.

The general consensus is that you only have loot from bosses you’ve killed that season. That once you kill that boss within the season that bosses’ loot is in your loot pool. I haven’t seen anything that covers the new story mode though. Since you kill the queen during story mode, not sure if that can put her loot in your vault or not.

Yeah I did the story mode raid and haven’t seen anything from queen’s loot in vault. I’ll do more research. Thanks.

its the boss you killed and every previous boss that can be in your vault. EX. you cant just kill the last 2 to target their loot. It will then include the entire raid into your vault.

Honestly, story mode shouldn’t unlock the vault loot pool for the queen. You don’t even get loot from her you just get the crafting crest and its from turning in the quest. So I would be very doubtful that this would be the case for the story mode.

That is a great question, it is my understanding this was changed in dragon flight.

"Going forward, for raid slots, killing a boss will now give you a chance at all of the previous bosses’ loot. For example, if you’re invited to a kill on Sarkareth, you’ll be 1/9 towards vault progress for that week. However, you’ll now have the loot from the entire raid in your vault pool for the raid slots. "

So basically I must defeat the queen in order to get her loot. Thanks for the confirmation folks.

I think this is accurate because i just received loot from a boss i didnt even defeat. Jeez man they will do anything to make the experience unsatisfying. They really think this is gonna make us play more but it just deters me from trying

It’s to avoid situations where raids were skipping certain bosses (that could be skipped) so it wouldnt ‘pollute’ their vault.

It was a fairly common thing back in vault when everyone wanted to avoid terros’ garbage loot.

Killing a boss that requires killing other bosses to reach unlocks the bosses that would have been required to reach it. Completely intended and logical.
