I can't find a good inventory addon

IMO all the popular ones on curse suck. Bagnon, Ark, Adi etc. Even the more obscure ones like xbag and Combuctor have serious flaws in basic design. I’m seriously considering learning LUA to just make my own. Will probably just rip components I like out of per-existing ones and re-assemble it into something else with a few other features and call it a day. But before I do that, does anyone have any other recommendations before do?

Thanks.

What do you want the inventory addon to do? Display everything in one massive list? Just tell you what you have and how many across chars?

My favorite used to be BankItems. It just tracked everything I had and let me search/view other chars and banks without changing chars. I don’t know if it still works.

Altoholic also tracks which chars have what items and how many of each.

I don’t care for any that re arrange my bags. I have things in a very specific order for a reason.

I use Bagnon and enjoy it. But in order to know what you want, we need more info to try to help.

Well, I like bagnon, too. I agree. I can’t really help you because we need more info.

I use Sorted.

I’ll give bank items a go. I just wanted some suggestions based on what others here like that aren’t the ones I mentioned for example. I won’t write down the entire list of things I want yet because I’m still working it out myself. And I imagine that list will change a bit as I learn how to make my own add-on.

Combuctor has always been enough for my needs, when/if I use a bag addon (sometimes run without depending on how much I care about updating addons). Before that, I ran with AllInOneInventory which was even more simple (default bag UI showing all bags in one window). I too wonder what you’re looking for that existing options don’t provide.

Regarding addon development, I wish you luck. Getting started is rocky due to lack of a single up to date source of documentation for the addon API (it’s all scattered around or nonexistent), and the little things that’ve changed over time will make snippets you find around the internet break without much recourse. The most straightforward way to learn is by picking apart existing addons, but that in itself is an adventure with how wildly writing styles and experience levels vary between developers.

I use Ark  I like it because of the amount of control it gives me. If you like configuring 465k settings Ark is the addon for you lol.

I’m sorry.

Why don’t you like Adibags?
