Most of the time I’m good… I launch from bnet, authenticator on the phone, passwords saved whenever possible, but if it came down to proving I’m not a bot by beating the completely illegible squiggles that are supposed to be a sequence of letters I will have lost my account.

Haha yes fellow human, I too find the automated turing tests captchas frustrating.
Does blizzard not know we are real humans? I must now go reboot. I said rest, not reboot - as in engage my totally human sleep protocols. bEep bOOp.
I’m pretty sure there are already bots that can solve captchas and the like.
It’s just pattern recognition, which is in part how current algorithms are trained to perform their various tasks, if I’m remembering correctly. Feed it properly tagged images, train it on what it’s meant to do and what you want it to avoid, input the correct instructions into the prompt, and it craps out an image to the standards you’ve set.
Teach it to recognize what the captcha’s requesting and click the appropriate images or find the most accurate set of letters to match a jumble instead, and it’s a wrap.
It’s always a cat and mouse game of mitigation. There’s always people trying to be dishonest, and people trying to thwart them.

I had one the other day on the bnet website that I had to match a bunch of dice to a number. I had to get ten of them correct. if I failed, I had to do 10 over again. and over again. and OVER again.
I finally gave up and just didn’t log in.
I had to login to my Amazon account on a new device. Those squiggle letters are THE worst. It took at least 6 attempts.
I think we all know who the bots are now
