I have been bouncing back and forth between a handful of classes for a couple of weeks now and I have finally narrowed it down to a Ret Paladin or a Demon/Destro Warlock. But I have now hit a wall. I can’t decide any further and could use some advice from players who actually main the class. I’ll list my good things and bad things.
Good Things for Paladin
-
I really love the class fantasy. It cool to be a warrior of the light.
-
The Transmogs are fantastic. Especially on a human female model.
-
Ret is super simple, but that means its hard to mess up. So it is crazy consistent. And in a world of RNG I feel like that’s a plus.
-
The amount of Utility is amazing. I love being able to help my team in a pinch.
-
I can try healing or tanking down the line if I ever want to.
My Fears About Paladin
-
There is only one DPS option. If it gets nerfed or changed with something I don’t like then I am screwed since I have no alternative.
-
It’s DPS is good, but is still outshined by several other specs. And melee spots for raids are very slim pickings. I’m afraid I’ll have a harder time finding a spot with a Pally than I would a Lock.
Good Things for Warlock
-
Pets! I have a personal tank that will follow me around wherever I go.
-
The class fantasy is spectacular. It feels cool to be summoning minions to do my bidding or to hurl giant fireballs at people.
-
The transmogs are amazing.
-
Great raid utility which means I am more likely to find a spot when needed.
My Fears About Warlock
-
Demonology is towards the bottom of the meters. Meaning I am likely have trouble finding spots in raids and Mythic Plus I think if I choose to main Demonology
-
No mobility. I come from maining a druid and a hunter. The lack of any consistent mobility hurts my soul.
-
Saturation. There is ALOT of Warlocks out there. I feel like it might be hard to separate myself from the pack.
Sorry for the wall of text though. Its just crunch time and I am stuck in my own head. Any advice or suggestions would be welcome.
