I wouldn’t name drop or stir up drama but only pointing out in all my thousands of shuffle since its inception that was only the singular instance I thought something was sketchy.
Now bots are different story, I saw so much blatant botting it was nuts before blizzard cracked down on them. To their credit they have a fantastic job of running out most of them. You can glance at any of the well known cheating website forums that haved owned or elite in names and see their woes regarding it.
Banwaves are much faster and more aggressive and it seems the cockroaches aren’t able to exist long before the next one squashes them.
Not that bots were unbeatable or anything but was exhausting to fight some specs capable of abusing them and certainly felt unwinnable at times.

Like the ban waves, the bots come in waves as well. I think the cheats tend to hit critical mass at all the same time while many just sit just below the radar. Haven’t see any this expansion that I can think of.

Blizzard is quick to spot unlockers and pixel bots these days with their new stuff I believe. Iirc they hired some really good anti cheat dude in DF which is why.
I mean yea pixel bots in overwatch were targetted fast but thats an FPS. I didn’t expect blizzard to catch them as quick in WoW either but yet they did.
They are on point. Now there are still bot programs that run deep enough in PC that warden cant catch em but most of those are very expensive (like $100-200 a month+) and limited slots to prevent blizz catching them very fast. Still around still see sus things on occasion but its super infrequent.

I remember the WOD-Legion and first couple years of overwatch. They were extremely common
I even knew a guy that actually made his own scripts for aimbotting/kickbotting. I didnt use them obviously (yeah let me run this unknown executable in my computer no ty) but people were 100% kickbotting
As a feral back then, it was a viable strategy for me to just cast Cyclone randomly just to get the kickbot’s kick so my teammates could cast
WOD you had pretty advanced honorbuddy profiles that were lowkey impressive before blizzard finally squashed them.
Most people thought of honorbuddy like the afk bot in bgs farming honor which was a function it had.
They had some insaneeeeeee profiles for scripting though. I’ve mentioned them to ppl before who doubted scripts in wow. They were very much like LoL script level. I remember one in particular Vitalics for rogue that unironically lived on after honorbuddys demise and was implemented into some of the rogue scripts we saw in DF. This one below. People who doubt scripts in WoW PVP have zero clue the level of sophistication they are capable of these days, that one is 11 years old lmao and still around on classic wow from what i hear.
So glad blizz squashed like 99% of them proliferating in arena. Imagine if they weren’t and getting trucked by a max APM outlaw rogue with this nonstop.

A while ago when I was learning a bit about the technology I wanted to see if I could make it identify and farm legacy raids and it was pretty competent (~January). I bet that a locally run AI could play wow. Who wants to invest time into this tho?

Yes you just move the character and it does everything else. Watch closely you see it vanish sapping people while mowing someone down without missing a beat. Very high level plays everything it did. It basically made it so any clown could pay the one time fee for profile and monthly HB sub and play their rogue like Reckful back then.
Crazy part was their was this huge denial of their existence even then. LoL community had the same blinders on that the WoW community did. You would see an obvious katarina bot in your gam pre rework and ppl like NAH SHES GOOD UR JUST BAD LOL and meanwhile this her pov
