I can't be the only one happy with shadow, right?

I mean no this isn’t the changes everyone wanted but it’s at least a STEP in the right direction. I do understand the 5% nerf to damage and other changes because we would have been borderline broken if every change made it to live. At least we have some positives!!! I think most people were expecting to faceroll this patch but I didn’t pick shadow because I wanted it to be OP. I picked it because I love the play style. I’m also one of the few who enjoys voidform. It’s just nice feeling like my character is going completely insane and trying to hold it back for as long as possible until he cant take it anymore and goes postal on everyone! No it’s not a HUGE change but It’s still certainly a buff. Are you guys wanting PvP buffs? I don’t do rated but I do bg’s and am usually AT LEAST top 3 in dmg/kills. I don’t have any issue with pve because I know once my crit/haste is high enough I’ll be fine. I do wish we had more option for mobility cuz god knows when that rogue/warrior clicks you it isn’t fun. I just feel like this is at least a positive and I’m excited to try it out!

I can’t speak of PVP but I’m disappointed in the PVE changes.

Our damage will still be mediocre. We still have ZERO UTILITY (90% of the time). It might not matter much outside of M content, but that’s what I’m into. Shadow will remain an F-tier spec for the tough stuff.

PVP still sucks… Sorry, I was hoping as well. I was optimistic. But its clunky, mediocre burst and just plain ez to train us.

Just curious, how long have you played shadow? I ask because most of the long-term players I hear from hate it and most of the people who love it started playing shadow fairly recently (Legion or later).

I believe(correct me if i am wrong) that shadow was pretty good in PVP and even used at the blizzcon pvp event. From what ive been hearing from the shadow pvp crowd is that these changes are really good for them but again i could be wrong.

I’m happy with it at the moment but i haven’t play shadow outside of bfa, sooooo yeah. As far as the changes go, they feel good to me. I need to spend some more time playing with that but with the 30 minutes i had before i went it work earlier, it looked like it was a 2 to 3k dps increase.

Coldspells….
um what do you do with your priest? PVE, PVP or a mix?
How long have you been playing a priest especially a shadow priest?
Obviously you do not do very much with it and you have not been doing it very long.

The reason shadow was in a good state in pvp was edge of insanity and mania made it tanky enough to survive combined with cc chain of silence horror scream. But edge negated void form entirely and that is just a dumb design. With edge, the top row of talents isnt even used in pvp… they nerfed edge and axed mania. I dont know how pvp will turn out.

ahh gotcha.

Losing that 5% damage reduction has really hurt in bgs. My dps doesn’t seem to be any different than yesterday, but I’m definitely dying faster.

It is my 2nd alt. Playing it since the second expac. The Deeps is mediocre and I could deal with that but its our lack of separation that hurts the class and makes it a bit boring to play.

I enjoy the new shadow priest changes. More mobility and sustain is great. The reworked azerite traits are welcome as well, as they allow for more diverse styles.

I think there is way less mobility. I dont know where you are seeing that?

With the changes I’m absolutely gutting people in rbgs. The damage is nuts. I went from 12 to 13k constant in bg to 18 20 in long sustain fights. Nobody competed damage wise

I’ve been playing my Priest since Vanilla and I’ve never been as disappointed. I just returned to the game only 4 weeks ago. I initially stopped playing because playing priest was frustrating and felt toxic. At the start of MoP when the player base realized that shadow was only able to do 48k to everyone elses 64k, we were being kicked from raid teams, kicked from pugs, kicked from guilds and basically redistricted to either rerolling or quitting. I came back in the middle of Legion but ended up unsubbing again because as a Priest, not a person or player, the community at large was pretty mean because of more nerfs. Now here we are in yet one more xpac where Priests aren’t able to experience the game like Mages and Locks are. Oh to be that class that everyone wants! I’ve played my Priest for 12 years. I’m not interested in rerolling. I’ll unsub.

Every class has some kind of movement ability, and it’s needed for the amount of direction changes and boss abilities. Priests already have movement issues, now we have more. Every class has some kind of effective CC, and immunities yet Priests have nothing that compares. Throw in mediocre to low dps output so forget random BG’s because no one is going to save you LOL and when a raid is on the skinny they certainly aren’t looking for a Priest. Heck, Shaman can dispel faster than we can and they don’t have the same long CD we have either.

Tell me something good. I have 2 weeks left on my sub.

Then let the the vast majority of us know what you are doing because even the top players dont notice any change.

From purely rbg aspect as I haven’t done 3s yet. All crit. Double shadowy app and 1 death throes. With changes to lotv and lingering insanity. Ur lingering takes so long to go away u will still have 7 to 8 percent left when u go into void form and it stacks with ur void form giving double dipped haste. I can post pics when home of damage. And what players are saying this. I watched wizk and pikaboo play and wizk kept commenting on the decent burst now.

More mobility? They got rid of Mania and Weakened Soul being applied by PWS is a nerf to Body and Soul. Is there another option I missed?

Ahh, true. I was just thinking about greater fade boost and dispersion boost. (50% movement speed) However, I feel like very little people used mania, but the weakened soul nerf is very true.
Otherwise, I think it would be cool if more people used surrender to madness, since you can move while casting abilities. They reduced the cooldown, so it’s not as punishing to use and insanity prevention duration was reduced by half. Using mind sear azerite traits with 30% snare will allow movement while slowing down enemies. Only downside would be managing dispersion with surrender to madness, but I guess it would add a more risky play style.

Mythic + is great right now with these changes… no complaints here… Mainly pissed at the disc nerf…
