And it’s a problem. And in case you’re reading into this for your own pet issue (e.g. THIS GUY WANTS M+ ON LFD!) I’ll break it down.
For the most part, I enjoy healing BGs.
General opinion is unless you’re 420+ you’re too low to heal BGs
In order to get to 420+ I need to do “not BGs”
The “not BGs” I have to do has no easy way to get involved
Worse, I have no interest in doing the “not BGs” required.
And I already feel like I’ve made a concession because what I really want to do is specific BGs and specifically not other. I’ve given up that dream
The simple solution here is to let me hit 430+ through BGs. Apparently this isn’t what the Devs want.
I can sympathize with those who want M+ on LFG only, and not on LFD even if I don’t understand the appeal. But I hope they can understand that it’s screwing me in a completely different part of the game that it seems they don’t care about.
The problem isn’t so much that M+ isn’t on LFD, it’s that you have to PvE to be competitive in PvP. That is the issue that Blizzard needs to address.
It’s a problem I face too. I only really PvP anymore, and doing M+ on my shaman healer doesn’t exactly interest me. What we can do is hope that Blizzard fixes this for 9.0; otherwise, I don’t know what to do.
As for M+, maybe find a few people to run with, perhaps a guild? I don’t think it’s a good idea to put M+ in LFD. LFG is the best avenue for it.
I don’t think it would make that big difference. A way they could do m+ in the LFD is to make sure a player can never queue for a dungeon higher(+2) to what they have done in the past. The system would reset weekly. On paper it really looks like a grind to get back up again each week but BfA and grinding goes hand in hand…
If they’re just solely PvP’ers, then there’s nothing pathetic and sad about their sentiment. And PvP’ers shouldn’t have to PvE to be competitive in PvP. Not sure why that’s a thing, and why people have to have an issue with PvP’ers not wanting to PvE.
@OP, it is possible to get ilvl 420 without M+, but it is a long process. I’ve got ilvl 422 and haven’t stepped foot in a dungeon. Yup, I’m one of the ones that have the “welfare” gear that others like to complain about, but it did take me a while to get it But in all honesty, PvP’ers shouldn’t have to be forced to waste that much time to get competitive gear for PvP’ing. They do need to bring back a better gearing system.
Hmm… in the event that you’re actually serious and not trolling:
Well, for one, do you honestly think that LFG random BGs are anywhere near the difficulty of heroic raids and m+ 10s? That’s an honest question. Because that’s the level of gear that you’re asking for.
The appeal is that any content that almost requires communication and coordination would be an absolute disaster if is was in LFG. The salt on the forums would reach oceanic proportions (m +0 is another matter).
Are we talking random queue BGs or rated? You never specified. Because if we’re talking random queue then “general opinion” can take a flying leap. If people are harassing you because you’re not above i-level 420 in random BGs then report and move on.
I believe that neither one nor the other should be required in order to be competitive in the opposite. HOWEVER, I do believe that if you’re pushing yourself to participate in all of the content at difficult levels instead of just focusing on one area, then you deserve to be a little ahead of the curve. A little. Not roflstomping everyone.
In other words, if you’re putting in extra effort, you should be able to see extra rewards. Not OP rewards, but rewards nonetheless.
This. I shouldn’t have to feel like i have to farm pve content for 2 or so months to be competitive in pvp…i hate bringing my team down because of my low ilvl on some of my alts and it sucks.
That and essences. If essences were boa or even being able to purchase them i feel would be a step in the right direction since i like to bg on 5-7 different classes. I really hope vendors come back i don’t want to have to pve to pvp.
That’s a problem. However, I don’t believe that giving LFG random BGs heroic raid and m +10 gear is the answer. Or do you honestly believe that queuing for a random yolo BG in group finder is equivalent to heroic raiding and m +10s?
It shouldn’t be the same gear IMO. Getting gear in one should not be advantageous in the other. PVP gear should have resilience and speed boots. PVE gear should have thing that benefit raiding.
Doing something completely unrelated shouldn’t provide you the gear for that thing.
Same i-level. Although I’d be 100% fine with resilience coming back or something to give PvP players an advantage when doing PvP content. Same with PvE.
Uh, possibly. Since BGs don’t have progression, it needs to be inverted. The PVP vendor is the solution here. If you are grinding out BGs, you have more currency for better gear.
