Iirc, they were late in rolling out Legion legacy flying until it was reported.

I’m hoping they’re not going to say “we didn’t unlock Legion’s until SL, so you have to wait until 11.0”

Literally NOWHERE in Seat of the Triumvirate or Eredath are there Velfs.

They didn’t exist until the incident at Telogrus Rift.

Only Alleria was turned— and not in the same way— and is NOT the backstory of Velfs.

Back on Azeroth, Alleria’s people had undergone many tribulations in her absence. The high elveshad been brought low by the evil Arthas Menethil, their mighty kingdom of Quel’Thalas reduced to ruins, most of their people slain. The survivors rose from the ashes, naming themselves the blood elves in honor of the perished. The blood elves — sin’dorei — learned to cope with the loss of their Sunwell, rebuilt much of their kingdom, and even allied with the Horde. Their many trials included the betrayal of their prince to the Burning Legion, but with his death and a grueling battle at the Sunwell’s resting place, the exhausted fount of power was restored to the sin’dorei, now a source of the Light as well as the arcane. The Sunwell’s restoration was the first step on a more prosperous path for Quel’Thalas, after some of the kingdom’s darkest days.

A blood elf magister, Umbric, was determined that the sin’dorei would never fall prey to their enemies again. Convinced that the void was essential to the defense of Silvermoon, Umbric and his followers delved into it against the wishes of Quel’Thalas’ Grand Magister, Rommath. Eventually, Rommath had them banished, reasoning that any who treat with the void pose a danger to the Sunwell, and Umbric led his followers south to the Ghostlands to pursue their research. He made a breakthrough after discovering notes left by Dar’Khan Drathir, one of Quel’Thalas’ most vile traitors, who had sought the power of the void long before selling his people to Arthas. While Drathir had not succeeded in his endeavor, eventually abandoning his research after a failed attempt to reach a void-infused rift world supposedly containing an item of great power, Umbric — who only now conceded that Rommath may have been right to oppose this course of study — was able to build upon Drathir’s findings and open the way to the rift.

With his followers, Umbric traveled to the void world now known as Telogrus Rift, which had been destroyed long ago by a being of great power (possibly Sargeras himself). But the fragmented world endured, heavily bathed in the void’s energies. Umbric, at last, had found what he was looking for: an ancient and powerful cube that could grant its masters control over shadows.[9]

Absolutely NONE of that.took place on Argus.

It would be released in 10 though. Legion didn’t go 2 expansions out until legacy content. BFA is on track to have pathfinder restrictions removed like every other expansion before it at this point.

Just report that the legacy tag isn’t carrying over yet for BFA on the beta and hope they lift it on release like they should. Or at least in the first few patches.

Flying Update in Shadowlands

With the major changes coming to leveling characters from 10-50 in Shadowlands, we want to make sure that there is a navigational parity among all of the different expansions you can choose while questing. In the next version of the Shadowlands Alpha that will appear this week, testers are going to see an intentional change coming to Shadowlands for a couple of older Pathfinder achievements. Specifically, the flight training rewards from Draenor Pathfinder and Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part Two …

The achievement will always be listed. But I take it you made a character without copying one and still can’t fly?

Er, well, no, I didn’t … I already have a copied character so I just checked if achievement text still mentions flying (instead of just increased mount speed) and trusted it.

Yes, which makes sense because it wasn’t legacy until SLs dropped. Blizzard labels legacy content with an every other expansion mindset.

I played through the zone twice, but it has been a hot minute. I am even currently at the Ruins of Oronaar. The architecture is very draenei/eredar/broken with broken mobs around.

Now, I can’t remember the quest so I can pick one of my other 47 alts to do it on and see what Alleria says. I long for some velf lore/cities since Blizz refuses to give us helves in name. But this place doesn’t look velf-y/thalassian. Maybe she came here to study before they all went mad with the void, but that doesn’t make it a velf city.

The main problem is the not stellar storytelling and the shoehorning in of velves IMO. Again maybe I’ll replay this zone on another hunter so I can get some of the cool pets from there.

Dang. Seems disappointing to have to go back through more old content to unlock the ability to fly in it. You’d think they’d make it so Xpacs beyond the current had flying automatically unlocked once you hit max level.

Yeah. Not sure why once a new expansion launches that flying isn’t auto unlocked then in the previous expansions.

I have unlocked every pathfinder when it was current but definitely feel like once a new expansion comes out that it should auto unlock previous expansions then for people. Especially with the new leveling system.

I think you are right and the irony is that because flying is so hard in BFA, once SL is part of Chromie time people will skip BFA and go to SL because you can easily use Threads of Fate to finish the climb to 60.
