Why not get the AotC that goes away next patch if I can get it now just by selling pots and flasks?
Aotc is useless if it doesn’t come with an exclusive mount. You’re just cheating your way to nothing.
First distinguish boosts from carries. Second, the site I looked at said I choose a time and the person meets me and we play together. I don’t know if that means take over my character, but it sure sounds like learning.
Rather than your very judgemental reply - which is why there’s no way in hell I’d try to run anything because that represents the mentality of those already playing.
They use it to get into other pugs run by (and filled with) people who also bought AOTC, haha.
The entire reason I play this game is to at least pretend to do encounters for gear. I won’t speak to my ability but I at least try my best. Carries just throws that incentive out the window. It would have all the hollow appeal of hacking morrowind, sure I have the daedric crap and can one shot anything, but now why bother doing anything when I have nothing to work towards?
Just sayin, if I bought carries, the newness would wear off, I’d get bored, and probably roll an alt.
I wonder what would be the success rate of such a group. Probably disband on soulrender?
Scratch that, probably on the nines.
There is no difference. A boost is literally a carry. If you are paying to be boosted through a mythic kill, or to gladiator, you are paying to be carried. That’s the point. And it’s not judgemental to call a spade a spade. If you feel it’s judgemental that I am pointing out a boost is a carry, that’s on you. Not me.
Carry is not paid and you might try your best to do mechanics and dps, still fail horribly. A boost, since paid, you’re expected to off yourself as quickly as possible so the run is smooth, cause you’re expected to be a failure.
Or I can pay 200,000 gold for gametime or Blizzard store credit. They let the door swing both ways. Anything you can achieve with gold, you can achieve by doing yourself to some degree… (those with real workloads outside might not be mythic raiding).
There is no “pay to win” here, go into some crappy China game app and come back here when you learn what true “pay to win” is.
I have boosted in the past. I got a laugh cause noone wanted me without “AoTC”, and after I get the boost, I’m dang near carrying many of the AoTC people.
Who says it has to be?
there is indeed pay to win in this game…it was built on the NEED for instant gratification, built by players in the community—BOOSTING. don’t kid yourself on what a boost/carry is–any service asking for gold to get you gear or achievements is not playing the game as designed. the MAJOR issue with boosting is that the advertising does not stay in trade chat and that they cheapen the game experience. boosting became normalized when a dev decided to let it be known he is PART of the issue by bragging about boosting for gold.
ME buying boosts doesn’t mean i’m OK with the boosting idea. It just means that i’ve surrendered to the idea that this game will go in another direction and that boosting will soon become the #1 way to play the game.
Just like Diablo where rushing, leeching is the normal and expected behavior.
LFR is full of leeches btw.
I mean I guess it doesn’t have to be sure.
But paying a sub fee every month to play an online game you don’t have fun in just pants on head stupid.
If you don’t find the content fun why play?
Worst, dedicating most of your game time to farm gold to end up paying to not play or even worst’er, buying tokens to not play, is dumb af.
So, shutting me down pretty fast here…and assuming most elite players feel this way, what would happen if I wanted to join a group after pulling off the first few untimed Mythics?
Yeah, devs make content that the majority of players cannot access, then SELL access to that content to make money on the side. That’s not just a conflict of interest, it’s despicable.
like i mentioned before: don’t be surprised when you see blizz introduce official ‘boost’ teams to cash in on the micro trans. it goes hand in hand with the e-sport thing =/
Buying a boost feels shameful to me. And I’m never shocked to see a player who bought 1 get killed in raid. But I also don’t care if you or anyone else boosts, op. No feeling of glory for you.
I am not shutting you down. Do not mistake me being flat and direct as shutting you down.
Here’s the thing. If you wanna get into a form of content, there are people out there who will teach and will coach you. I have offered on these forums numerous times, and there are plenty of people who will confirm this, to teach and coach people. I have taught and coached people before many times. Me offering to teach and coach someone is very different than me telling them to come into an arena with me, die and then let me finish off people 2v1 because I outgear the living hell out of them.
If you wanna get into some kind of content? You should. But you don’t buy your way into that content. You network, find a group, and do it as it was intended.
the fact that blizz sells boosts and tokens should be the red flag here on the game’s direction. they are NOT idiots and clearly know the gain in revenue by enabling/allowing boosts to happen at all. they are LEARNING from the large boost communities
