I actually really like their design.

Ardenweald has a lot of Celtic inspiration. The Welsh are a part of that and uhhh… yeah if you ever look at Welsh you’ll understand.

What was Slenderman? Only thing I remember about it was those crazy girls that tried to stab their friend to death up in Wisconsin a few year back.

He started off as a creepypasta that turned into an internet meme because of how popular the story was. Creepypastas were essentially just amateur internet horror fiction that were posted for free public consumption. The video game came after that, as did the criminal case involving those girls.

For reference, other creepypastas include Smile.jpeg, Jeff the Killer, and Ben Drowned. Slenderman is effectively in the same category as all those other guys.
