The hope was that I would goblin glide gracefully after tagging and it would follow me to ground lvl and we would duke it out.
Never had such a flat face landing in my life. After the one shot I fell laughably stiff from the sky into a crowd of people questing.
Great worms, it will kill you quickly while making you move slowly.

8.3.5 should have had lasers to blast them and turn them into rares or world bosses or something : / sad that isnt planned. They look cool. I dig the vibe seeing great flying worms swimming in the sky like it was water with the egypt like scenery.

They serve as a means of making sure you fly as close to everything as possible so that you can immerse yourself in the Zone’s beauty.
Ion created Pathfinder so that we would immerse ourselves in the Zones. Since Uldum and the Vale of Eternal Blossoms already have flight unlocked he has to have some way of keeping you from flying so high up you can’t make out the Zone.
Ion wants Players to see the Zones he makes. Honestly speaking he should probably have these sort of creatures instead of Pathfinder! They will make you come in low enough to see the Zone while allowing you to go high enough to get out of enemy range.

They are a simple element to add a little something interesting. A little danger. Isn’t there is anything else threatening you.
They aren’t part of some grand flight controlling illuminati conspiracy.

The Great Worm never expected…the Demon Hunter

Item lvl of character who pulled ? There’s hardly anything in WoW that can take on a feared BDK
Mechagon stuff is danger, the worm so high up in the sky are not.
If it’s a danger then it would attack you 500 yards away instead of just slowing you.
** Insert some shill joke or something here

See you gotta be a Marksman Hunter, for that 50 yard attack range, glider and shoot some more to keep aggro, then when you’re near the ground disengage to reset your fall.
You should’ve seen them on PTR. Once they drooled on you, they were hauling butt to chomp your face, continually slowing you down as they gradually caught up.
Part of me was hoping it would make it live, but I suppose it wound up being a bug.

Lol that would be epic. But of course like mechagon flying machines they have to be killable.
The moment i saw their HP i knew it was a terrible idea to get anywhere near them

You are suppose to jump onto it from above and surprise it, like in Avatar.

You can get away with flying above them. I flew from Silithus to Uldum and set my angle to clear the mountains. I wasn’t playing attention and ended up way above them half way into the zone.

Would be hilarious if Shadowlands has flying open on day one but is filled with these things and made flying a royal PitA, and once you unlock the new Pathfinder you get a talisman thingy that makes you immune to them.

Actually they were made because people kept saying they wanted actual threats in the sky like there were in BC and WotLK. So what did they do? They add a threat to the sky and people complain.
There’s no making you people happy.

Being slowed isn’t a threat, and you have to intentionally try to pull them if you want the worms to attack you. When people talk about threats, they’re usually referring to things like the monstrous kaliri in Skettis, the fel cannons around Ogri’la, etc.
