I Assume The Naga Are Going To Wreck The Alliance

The Alliance have 100% naval superiority right now and are “weeks from winning the war”. That can’t be allowed for the sake of the eternal MMO status quo though.

If the meta reason wasn’t enough, lorewise we know Sylvanas is being quasi-friendly with Xal’atath, and by extension N’zoth in 8.2 too.

TLDR: I prognosticate that the Naga are going to pound the Alliance far harder in 8.2 than the Horde.

Wait, is Xal still in that dagger? I thought there was a quest where she was released, so wouldn’t that mean that Sylvie just has an empty Old God prison?

I think that’s a pretty fair bet, and it would be cool to see! Maybe a giant sea creature can tear up the fleet, like Ozumat in Cataclysm. Or gigantic N’zoth tentacles. Or maybe the sea floor just opens up underneath us and the ships start free-falling, with Jaina’s magic only saving the Important Plot Boats. Then we could find smashed ships and bodies all over Nazjatar, maybe serving as quests or resources or bonus objectives. Pretty neat idea!

I love that concept!

Yes, she has a empty old god artifact but N’zoth has keep the dagger for his “services”, so with that in mind we can say N’zoth will act like Xal and deceiving Sylvanas into doing something that in return will turn the horde against her while the alliance is heavily wounded

Hmm … I guess I’m honestly curious what it could be? The dagger is a prison, one that I suppose can now be filled again I suppose? But, who could her target with it be?

8.2: the patch Azshara will save the Horde from Alliance vengeance.

I feel somewhat inherently sceptical about this supposed twist Ion talked about in his recent interview. I will be greatly surprised if something happens that we genuinely didn’t expect.

I know! Azshara was mind controlling Sylvanas this whole time! That would be hilarious.

Little did we know that Windrunner was a married name from a generation ago. Because in her heart Sylvanas always knew her destiny lay with her auntie Azshara…

It’s definitely a possibility.

Whatever they do, I hope they do Azshara justice. That quest where you meet her as Farondis genuinely creeped me out. You could feel the malice oozing off her when she talked and she never dropped that sickly sweet tone.

My optimistic guess is that Azshara is actually fighting against N’zoth (still for power hungry reason and such). But because we don’t know that, we end up making something worse like actually helping to unleash N’zoth. An interesting twist but not something crazy out there.

My less optimistic guess is something along the lines of main character X die. Cause killing cool and interesting characters=good story telling

I mean, I suppose there is the whole Derek thing … and we STILL don’t really have any insight in what Sylvanas was planning on doing with Lady Ashvain. Then she’s got the whole Xal’atath issue. Sylvanas has a surprising amount of things cooking right now.

I’m legit scared by Azshara. Sargeras? Big goofy devil with invisible legs that just kinda AFk’d during Legion only to appear when he was about to DC.
G’huun? Some ancient worm that like blood a little too much.
But…Azshara? That naga/elf just creeps me out.

I want, like, 10 cinematics with her that’s the bare minimum

How we finished things with Zul has me really worried about this. He was such a mysterious enemy for so long and one of the better villains introduced post RTS characters. Even his build up in BfA where we actually got to meet him was awesome.

Then he ended up dying in a okay, but lack luster cutscene and then we fight his empowered corpse as a mid raid boss.

Azshara has been all that build up x100

She has a pretty damned good model built for it. Its pretty cool looking … in a whole elf/octopus lady sort of way.

My general hope is that she doesn’t just get iced in her raid. The idea that SHE would drag US into her domain (which it does appear like she’s doing) only for us to kind of just murder hobo our way into her palace and put her down; man … that would be so disappointing. Especially since as her Warbringers (the best one IMO) showed us … she has an Empire to bring back. It would be super weird for her to die for some underwater castle (no matter how important it may be for her).

There was a leak awhile ago that was very accurate in predicting Dazar’alor and it claimed Sylvanas will personally wreck the Alliance. Most likely with her new Old God powers.

I’m in the minority apparently but I loved Vashj’ir for exactly that reason. It was a beautiful zone that mixed up the gameplay and, for once, we actually lost pretty severely. We also got to see the extent to which Naga and Old God forces control the seas and it was just great all the way. We never stood a chance.

Seems like a reasonable assumption.

Though the consciousness that resided within the dagger is gone, the place it once occupied still resonates with power. You sense the weapon now speaks another voice. Another purpose…

As the Artifact Lore states the blade was made from a claw of Y’Shaarj. The entity that was inside the claw whatever it was is gone leaving only Y’Shaarj’s voice.

What was in the claw? We don’t know though Xal’atath did call the Naaru beloved brethren who had wandered from the true path so I would assume the Void shoved a Spark of Light(obviously a Naaru) into the claw of Y’Shaarj.

Sparks of Light usually become Naaru and Titans. Constellars resemble Titans so they probably are Sparks of Light as well(not to mention Harbaron resembles a Constellar and is called “a lesson for my brothers I suppose” by Xal’atath).

With the corrupted Naaru leaving in a possessed High Elven corpse and the Dagger Xal’atath in Sylvanas’s possession things are getting more interesting.
