I Am Very Open To TBC After Phase 6

There has been a ‘Classic+’ that was good. It’s called TBC.

I really don’t get why so many people advocate for the current development team to do a new classic+. Virtually everything positive about classic is the work of another development team and a lot of the bad things and questionable decisions are the result of the current team. Having them do new content for classic from the ground up will be a disappointment. It also defeats the point of all this which is providing content for people who are tired of retail to up subscriptions to fund new retail content at a lower overhead. Classic+ goes in the face of this. TBC maintains it and will hopefully allow for the developers to learn enough to fix the hemorrhaging that has occurred in retail.

The concept of TBC will further split the playerbase but Classic+ won’t is also so ill thought out as a soapbox. TBC is also not one step closer to a failed retail. It largely improves on almost all aspects of the game in terms of further character depth/progression and class/spec viability. The failings that happened in retail occurred much later than TBC.

If you don’t want TBC there will almost certainly be classic servers just in fewer quantity. If you want to cry that you’ll get left behind because most people will leave you behind for TBC and ‘split the community’ then we ultimately arrive at the crux of the issue. You want your personal preference pushed on to a majority that want something else.

Over time, Classic servers will lose players whether or not TBC Classic is a thing. As someone who has enjoyed playing legacy games for many years with no new content, I am confident that there will always be enough Classic players for at least a handful of servers to thrive.

That said, I really believe that TBC servers will attract a ton of players who are either playing retail with no interest in Classic or haven’t played WoW in years and are just waiting for TBC. The interest pool for Classic and TBC does not overlap 100%. The same is true for WotLK. I doubt you’d see enough interest in Cata and forward to warrant re-releasing those expansion.

I want Classic Pong.

If I even play TBC it definitely wont be on a PVP server. You think faction balance is bad now, wait until horde get paladins.

They will need to implement a faction cap if they want any hope of a somewhat balanced community.

I’m not even sure Blizzard deserves my current sub, let alone TBC.

Vaulty is a grade A, top tier idiot and nothing he says has any value whatsoever. His videos are sequence of two or three ideas constantly swirled in a loop until it hits 10m.

I didn’t watch the video, but to speak to your thread, yes TBC would very good, but it shouldn’t be separate from the current classic servers. The classic servers should advance into TBC. Splitting the playerbase is always a bad idea.

Taking bets on how long after TBC launces until folks ask for WOLK servers…or are they already?

Whats wrong with people wanting to play their favorite expansions? Not everyone thinks classic is the best let alone in their top 2.

I always reiterate this but… how many of you forget how many MILLIONS of subs were lost when Cataclysm launched with all of the ignorant changes that NO ONE asked for? MILLIONS upon MILLIONS.

I know so many have their opinion here, and I know Blizzard is gonna do what they think is best, but based on historical events (so to speak) I think it’d be very good for the playerbase if they had some classic servers, some Classic+TBC servers and some Classic+TBC+Wrath servers and end it at that. That would be everything “original” before they started making it seriously stupid.

Or Classic ~.

I’m looking forward to Classic Shadowlands. And if they speed up the phases for all Classic expansions, we could be there by next April.

I’m looking forward to TBC, Hell it should be a no brainer for them.

If they release TBC I wouldn’t be surprised if classic servers convert to TBC servers.

I’m a bit neutral as I really played TBC like it was my only job. Don’t think I can do that again but TBC was fun. I’ll give it that.

That or you and the 100 or so people staying at Classic-only on just your server will have to deal with it. You’ll get merged one way (actual forced merge) or another (cross-realm phasing/sharding/etc)

It’s tough to know what they will do.

Going with a TBC Classic will require either everyone to go with it, or severely destroy server communities and guilds and eventually have to link servers together.

There’s no way to viably have a Classic and TBC Classic together without hurting both, unless it’s forced and every Classic server becomes a TBC server.

Nah, you’ll literally destroy server economies and guilds overnight with separate optional TBC and WOTLK servers.

Servers will merge as always. Blizzard made extra servers at launch to handle the early rush and they were bound to have some not fill up and stay. TBC and more content will always keep the player base around longer more than it will split it.

still leveling more alts for when TBC comes out.

I think these servers should go to the end of WotLK for sure. Cataclysm to me was when the game really jumped the shark.

So like…? Toons Max out at level 5 with portals to each start zone and having a random streamer voice boom out “Spawn Ragnaros” and have daily Hogger raids.

Have Kazzak spawn in the AH when you least expect it.
