Hunter was never the class to do a lone sniper in the first place.
The main hero inspos for Marksmanship were mostly depicted as having birds at some point or other (Sylvanas and Tyrande in 3 had Sentinel Owl, Alleria has her falcon as a prominent part of her monument)

Maybe a lone sniper should have their own class.
Weāve been asking for a tinker/sapper class for decades now.
Sniper fits with that far more and yet everytime it is brought up people go āa profession as a class?ā.
As someone that has always hated hunter because of the petsā¦I wish.
But I guess things are staying the status quo for now. Maybe in a few years weāll get something.

Itās not just a matter of needing more classes for the fantasy, hunter being the only class for three whole weapon categories is imo an issue in itself, it also makes itemization weird especially if you favor a specific aesthetic (that there is only like one bow yet this expansion annoys me to no end even if the raid bow is very cool and I know for a fact Iām still 99% likely to just keep using Thasādorah skins until the last server shuts down)
Like crossbows are basically an afterthought, leatherworker getting bowmaking was the best idea they had for the profession and they removed it this expac, and even with guns only two races ever started with them pre-legion (Dwarves and Taurens)
In the sense that petless will still be the superior dps build, yes. You are correct. But now with no loss of utility.

No, i have never hated hunters for their pets because i have main a hunter for a very long time. I am very disappointed at Blizzard for ruin the Hunter class for so many years and now i was hoping for a new start with MM Hunter. That dream went south very quickly.
Literally just play MM with spotters marked picked. Canāt do anything about the falcon though since the theme of hunters is man and beast vs the wilds.
But at least you donāt need a pet AI
