So now I have 4 vessels of horrific visions in my inventory which I can not use because my cape is rank 7.
Vessels are timegated, on top of the cloak upgrade quests being timegated.
This feels bad since I am basically forced to not do content because I have to wait till next Tuesday to use just one vessel and I will be done again.
Why is it that the right way to play the game is to not do the content?

Well you can use them, technicly you can earn 5 a week so you don’t need to save anyÂ.
Now if you don’t care about pushing with masks (to get better gear) or getting the vision essence there isn’t much to do.
Query: as long as you have 1 for Tuesday why not just use the ones you have to try and explore deeper?

Because eventually they start to take more than 1 a week. Like rank 14 is 6 runs, rank 15 is 9 runs. Some of them before that take 3 runs. So I need a stock pile so when I get to those ranks they can be finished quickly.
Op keep in mind to get from 14 to 15 on the cape you have to do 9 vision quests. Look for YouTube videos that break down the math. Eventually you will have to horde your keys so you can get a level every week.
Bad design but after cloak 10 you have to do like 4 keys a week or something? It just sucks for a few more weeks
Statement: then you are choosing not to do the conetnet, not being forced into it. You dont have to be world first or server first. If you want to do the content, then go do the content. The ranks will come.

I don’t see the need to do a Vision without cloak upgrades since gear is falling from the sky, but if other players choose to grind Visions for gear, that’s their option.
Except you’re guaranteed 4 visions a week. What happens next week when you can’t get anymore visions since you’re rank 8 and you’re capped at the 7 1/2 in the bag? Even at rank 12 youre still gonna have all the resources for finishing your rank up.
The right way to play the game might be to use your extra Vessels of horrific Visions to help someone who may have a hard time clearing it themselves. Like a healer, or a tank, or someone with really bad gear.
Or they made sure that people would have enough to still get by even if they failed a few times.
Statement: No it’s not ineffective. It gets me practice in the areas, chances for pets and mounts, and more corrupted mementos for the tech tree and mounts/xmog.
Continued statement: If you are attempting to be the world first rank 16 cloak then sure, stock pile now and “suffer”. But do not claim you are being forced to.

Depending on how many you earn each week, there’s no point in saving them up now already. You can only hold 5 Vessels + 25k CV. If you only do 1 run after the reset you are almost at the limit. And the week after that will force to do extra runs unless you wanna waste CVs.
In fact, as long as you start week 14 with the max amount of Vessels and CVs and do all the non-grind stuff each week, you will get those cloak ranks within the first week of them becoming availible.

Gonna lead by agreeing with this. Taking up all this bag space is stupid by anyone’s line of thought.
You can use them. They’ve buffed the drop rate of these things specifically so you have more than you need to advance your cloak each week. Use them, farm up more mementos, max out titan research faster, and then you’ll be able to start getting higher ilvl gear and sockets for your other gear.
