I am still right about the Mage Tower

You’re a legend in your own mind at this point. You’ve spent far more time complaining on the forums than you have trying to improve your play. You are literally posting multiple times in every MT thread. Yes, you are still right, the MT is still a challenge and you still haven’t completed it. Working as intended.

You will never get the skin with your current approach.

The people who are still ranting about wanting it nerfed, I guess.

The Mage Tower isn’t overtuned. You aren’t allowed to disagree with me because i’m always right about everything. Thats a fact and trying to argue it just makes you a troll.

I would hope not as that would only be evidence it’s poorly designed

Given that the forum represents such a small percentage of the actual population, I’d say these angry complaints are a tear drop in the ocean. People whined about the difficulty back in Legion, too.

If the MT is designed to be a challenge for high end players then Blizz is successful! Congrats Blizz :]
If the MT is designed to be a challenge for regular players then they dun goofed

Without all the old gears, tier bonuses, artifact and so on I think HP sliders is one of their only main means of tweaking things.

Who are you calling an idiot?

OP, what problems are you having?

Post on your retail character that completed it, and I’ll tell you.

Nice going beating Guardian Druid. But I can guarantee that you didn’t beat it without using some old content trinkets and consumables, specifically Unbridled Fury.

I tried to beat it with my regular gear. Never got Kruul past 20%

Got RSP and Sethe trinkets, and I down him to 10% and can clear P1 in resto affinity in under 3 minutes.

Out of curiosity, I get two Fury potions. They still cost 1k each on the AH. I only use one so far, and I fail it at 1%. And not because I died. But because a Nether didn’t aggro me (the others did) and killed Velen. I was sitting at full health.

The fact that gear/consumables are that much of a factor in a challenge that’s supposed to challenge your skill is evidence of a tuning issue.

Correct. SL food. SL FLasks. Unbridled Fury Potion. Drums, Shadowcore Oil, SL PVP gear + SL M+ gear (for combined Versatility gear) and a green Haste/Vers weapon off of AH

Trinkets were the Heirloom one that procs 10% more damage to demons + Ravaged seed pod. Enchants were SL and gems were the +16 vers ones (SL as well)

Never denied any of this

Edit: I did get a Legion neck and put Satyr on it! I did do that.

Forget for a moment that this is a videogame, and remember that this is a product made by a company intended to be profitable. Shutting out a large portion of your paying customers and telling them they just need to “get good” is a stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid idiotic business move.

Depends. If people like to claim this is only for the top 1% of players…well…good thing this is only 1% of the entire expac huh? Plenty of other things to do in the game.

describe them then. what parts are messed up, and why is your spec/class unable to handle them?

The nether shades don’t all go to you if you hit one in phase 2 like they do in phase 1 if that’s what you mean.

I had Velen die a few times that way because I was kiting kruul too far away from Velen/orbs.

Can you agree that your choice of niche gear and consumables were a make-or-break factor in your completion? If so, do you think it should be that large of a factor in a supposed skill-based challenge?

And I wasn’t trying to downplay your achievement, if that’s how it came across.

So what about this?

Gear wasn’t niche. It was shadowlands versatility gear. I’d call that prioritizing. No different than aiming for specific gear for raids/M+/PvP.

I had a 3% pull and a 1.5% pull with mix-matched gear and no drums. The potion did help. I didn’t even really try any of the SL ones. I had enough Zinny to make about 150 Unbridled Fury potions though. And I do feel those helped. How much better that is compared to the SL one though I can’t say

I was more referring to the trinkets.

By all accounts, my trinkets weren’t perfect either. Although Ravaged Pod Seed did help me push phase 1 quite a bit faster by making it so I didn’t have to change out of Boomy every Nether Horror round.

As for how much the other one helped? Couldn’t say. I didn’t bother to look at the uptime on the buff /shrug

Edit: More of my better pulls came from DPS trinkets (Unblinking Gaze of Sethe [although intellect based] melted adds)
