I am still hyped for Classic

It is one of those posts, so if you dont want to read, I dont blame you! Good Luck in Azeroth friend!

But I still am hyped for classic, not all of the changes they have, but majority of the way the game is looking. I am happy.

I took off my rose tinted glasses and really looked into it. Yeah Classic is a grind, no I do not have the time I used to in order to play for hours upon hours a day, and that is okay.

I enjoyed the talent trees more back then, I enjoyed the slower pace of everything back then, I enjoyed getting lost in my character back then. Just like a true RPG is supposed to let you.

I am not the best player in the world, never would try to claim to be, but I am not the worst, but sometimes some of these mechanics in retail take me awhile to get down with a group of complete strangers, and with the recent “I want everything now” type of attitude I keep running into, I will be happy to have a slower and “easier” raiding time. Less flashy mechanics, less raid wiping mechanics, more ways to recover from a mess up from someone, and overall better atmosphere for me personally.

I feel like the class fantasy is still alive where each class brings a special something to the table. Yeah I would love to be an ele shaman in raid, but its not really viable till later with better gear, and that is just fine with me.

Do I want CRBG?? Not really, but I get why they are being put in… especially with some lop-sided servers where streamers may be, and their fans will flock to just to interact and engage with them. That is what gives them joy and blizzard understands this, so to minimize hurting other players on the opposing faction, this is probably necessary. Banning streamers, or “forcing” them to state their server or faction or forcing them all to go to one server is just dumb logic.

Do I want 1.12 AV? Nah, this is probably my least favorite part. But some people do and its honestly whatever at this point. I will just do what I need to, to get exalted and not queue up anymore shrug

To those who are so pessimistic about server sizes and how layers will kill the game. Chill. Private servers pull upwards of 5 digit numbers on their servers, and those people have to go out of the way to join. This just comes with your subscription and people will be curious and play. also some will probably enjoy and stay.

One last thing, to those that are just straight salty in general, please stay on retail. =)

I am starting to become aware that I am more hyped for the idea of classic than the reality.

I hope I can connect with a new guild, build new social ties and re-experience the magic but with all of the compromises and concessions being made not sure if it is going to live up to the hype.

Also I have changed a lot since back in the day.

That is understandable, one of the worst parts is being alone in an MMO. But remember, the ones who post on the forums are just a small percentage of those that will be playing

Im excited for classic. Ive already found my guild through the forums and I am currently on beta watching the OH NOEZ DOOM AND GLOOM!!! posts and laughing at them because… while its not optimal with layering to the experience its STILL so much better than playing retail where there’s only 4 viable specs and everybody else is benched rofl.

THIS THOUGH!!!

Everybody thinks that the forums is the be all end all “THIS IS WHAT IT WILL BE”

When all the negative threads (unarmored mounts, AV, layering, etc) all the BIG threads are like 5 people screaming to get their way and a hundred people saying “shhhhhhhhh”

Dont listen to the forums. Pick a server and play my friend and you wont have any issues. There will be a gross of guilds forming in the first few weeks.

The people who complain about layering really just dont understand how temporary it will be and most probably wont even by 60 by the time its taken away, which the worst part is possible inflation of items like the black lotus. Which… will again be gone by the time the layering is off, maybe a week after due to people needing them for actual crafting.

I was worried all the “you’re just nostalgic” guys were right. But turns out I’m only nostalgic cause the game was great. I love it so much can’t wait for August.

Can’t agree more. My most memorable gaming experiences came from clearing Scarlet monastery with my casual guild of 5 people. I remember feeling like I really achieved something. The Social aspects of classic WOW are what I’m most looking forward to. There are people I met, quested and leveled with back in Vanilla I still game with today

The stress test suggested to me that the game will be phenomenal. I played on realm 15 and it has been a great time, despite just a 2 day test.

The essence of the game and its community showed up IMO. It has been very busy and active, with many friendly people throwing out random buffs, heals, and groups invites. (And non-friendly people around too, as always). The vibe seemed to keep building as time went on. I think some of the less happy players dropped out over time, also.

And yes there is still work to be done before launch.

If all we got was the old classic pre-cata world,…I’d play it for the next 2 years.

There are some things, they’re posted about over and over, but I still don’t care, just hurry up and get here so I don’t have to visit forums and watch beta streamers anymore, it just makes me want to complain; when all I really want to do is log in classic and play.
